Do you take off your ring...

Does anyone take off their engagement or wedding ring while sleeping, working out, showering, cleaning, swimming...or any other time? Right before I got engaged, I started noticing women with rings on (probably because I had e-rings on my brain at all times!) at places like the gym and the beach and I was surprised. I would be afraid of losing it or catching it on something, etc. We got engaged in Vegas and spent a couple of days out at the pool while there. FH and I were both very adamant about leaving my ring locked up in the safe while we were at the pool. My sister mentioned sleeping and showering with hers on and I realized it never occured to me that it would be "safe" to do so. So how many of you leave yours on at all times?

I only take mine off when I'm getting ready to go to bed (goes right back on after I shower and fix my hair) or when I'm swimming or doing something that would require I put my hands where the ring could get wrecked. When I take it off it goes straight in my jewelry box so I know right where it is.

Puffins, I'm the same way. I'm the type who accidentally knocks over displays in stores, and loses my keys in crazy places. The worst was when I dropped them in half a foot of snow in the dark........I'd probably drop my ring while taking it off and have it roll somewhere I'd never find it.

I take off the ering, wedding ring and the promise ring I wear on my right hand when I cook, clean, shower, and use hand lotion. I bought lovely little ring holders for my kitchen, the bathroom and the bedroom. I put the rings on the ring holders whenever I take them off. All ringholders are away from anywhere that they can fall into something.

I have never worn real jewelry when we traveled to Mexico or the Carribean. I have paste replicas. However, for our honeymoon, I could not leave my rings home. I kept the ering locked up during the day, in its original Helzberg box, while on the beach and put the ering back on when we went out tonight. I kept my wedding ban on while we were on the beach and pool, etc. I will never do that again. It is back to paste for travel for me.

Good Idea Carole, I only take mine off to shower, clean, put on lotion or do my nails--I use a UV light for my nails and don't know what that may do to it over time.

I very rarely take mine off because as some have said, I feel like is safety having it on at all times...over the summer, I was at work late and had to put some mail in our mail meter...well one piece of mail got stuck and I wasn't able to get it out with my ring on...so I took it off and.placed it on the counter next to.the meter....I did my mail and left...I walked about a quarter of the way down the hall and realized I forgot it. I went back and.it was GONE!!! you want to talk about the scariest 1 and a half in my life??!! I tore that mail room apart...looked on my hands and knees...cursed the cleaning lady out in my head cuz I.swore she would have had time to.get in and stealy ring in the three minutes that I left it there..i even.got.desperate and called FH to my job to come.help me look for it! I was almost to the point of tears when I looked in yhe recycle bin ONE MORE TIME..and there it was!!!!!! I took the hint that I'm not good at keeping up with things, so I leave it on..

I love my ring and I take it off when i shower, wash my hands and if i go into a pool or beach water. It would be in my purse so that when i dry my hands i slide it back on.

Cont. I went to the beach this.past summer and only took it off to apply sunscreen...I once had sunblock melt and ruin my acrylic nails so who knows what.it would do to my ring!! Great advice though, Mrs Roberts...sometimes I feel.like my ring is already looking cloudier than I think it should

Only to be cleaned or if it's absolutely necessary to an activity, which is almost never.

The only time my rings come off is when I put lotion on and when I am boxing (because the ring feels funny under the gloves).

I have worn my rings to the beach, skiing, working out (although I worry about scratching it) and well everywhere. I told DH I was going to take it off when I participated in my breast cancer 3 day because my fingers swell from walking so much but he seemed hurt by it so I didn't).

I take mine off to sleep, shower, swim, apply moisturiser etc. When I first got it I even took it off each time I washed my hands. I know a girl with a ring from the same designer and it has taken a bit of wear over the years so I want to make sure I look after it.

I take mine off if I'm cleaning with chemicals (bleach, ect) and when I'm sleeping. Any other time I wear it.

I take my ring off to sleep and shower ... that's about it. I wash dishes with it because I forget that I'm wearing it when I start and I'm too afraid it'll go down the drain or something.

The only time I take mine off is when I'm putting on lotion...or doing anything with messy food like seasonings or if I'm using hair grease, etc.

I keep it on to shower and sleep

I only take mine off for really dirty cooking jobs like making hamburger patties and or when dealing with whole poultry. And when I go to the ocean. Other than that it stays on my finger all the time. All too often when I have taken it off in the morning to apply lotion I forget to put it back on and I feel naked all day : ( so I keep it on for the most part. I find keeping my rings on for hand washing makes them look extra sparkly : )

I used to take mine off allllll the time, because I was so protective of it- I wouldn't even wear it to my serving job at first because I was scared of getting it all gucky.

Now I wear it almost all the time- I take it off to shower, and if I'm cooking something messy like meatballs.

I use to take it off to sleep, wash dishes, shower, when I do any hair services.

but I had to start leaving it on cause I would always leave, realize I forgot it and turn around to come home and get it

I usually wear mine, even while sleeping. I take it off to shower, put on lotion, wash dishes and hands on cooking. Otherwise, it's pretty much on my finger.

LOL at Puffins - the birds nest is something that would totally happen to me....
