Do you think family and friends are tired of all your wedding talk?

Jesse's Boo, on June 9, 2014 at 11:04 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 28

Do you think everyone has gotten tired of you mentioning

wedding stuff all the time? I haven't really talked to my family or MOH about all the stuff I've done or any of my fears or anxiety. I'm so glad to be able to with this forum. I don't want to have them grow tired of wedding stuff...but I wish I can just talk wedding stuff all day long!

    I avoided wedding talk except with my FI, unless someone else initiated it. Otherwise, I used wedding forums when I needed to talk about the wedding.

    I'm sure my mom and my sister are extremely tired of hearing it. I tried keeping my mouth shut for a couple of weeks and then my mom told me that my sister thought I was excluding her from my plans. Can't win.

    My mother and sister are so disinterested, I don't bother. I come here or talk to my FMIL who is SO excited.

    I've decided that for every pregnancy or kid story I have to listen to, they have to hear about wedding planning. LOL!

    @Soon2beMrsZ2015, I've never looked at it that way but that is wonderful validation!

    I try not to bring it up, but I'll talk if people ask. I have someone close to me who married last month, so I ask her questions.

    Luckily my sister is planning her wedding that is 4 months before mine. We talk wedding constantly and it's great to bounce ideas off each other. We're also in each other's weddings.

    If they are tired of it then they should stop bringing it up! Haha I rarely bring it up and when I do it is only to the important ppl who need to know the details

    @Purple:

    Ditto! But my mom got upset because I *ignored* her ideas. I did NOT. I promise. It turned into a huge fight. Shes still mad at my sister. And I feel weird about bringing up the wedding.

    For sure! :o) I only have a select few people that I really talk about wedding stuff with. One being my boss lol. I'm a nanny and her and I basically text all day, about everything. She loves hearing about it, so I'd rather tell her than annoy somebody else with it. People bring it on themselves when they ask me how wedding planning is going! :o)

    I haven't been able to talk to anyone about it except FH every now and then and then it's normally about the money part of it. He wants to be on some type of schedule with paying off the wedding as he makes the extra money on the side. I also every once in a blue moon talk with FMIL. She has been helpful but some of her advice is not my style. I still listen and take what I need from the conversation. I wish I could talk with more people.
