Do you think it's rude for guest to wear white

Esther & Illya 2016, on May 13, 2016 at 11:18 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 54

Ok I'm 28 days away and starting to get overwhelmed. We are having a destination wedding and I thought planning would be less stressful. Boy, was I wrong! So being that we are so close to the wedding date I'm getting a lot of guest calling and asking can they wear white, a part of me don't care but the Bridezilla side wants to say Hell No!! Please help me decide which side to listen to. I have so many other things to think about besides a dress code. Thanks in advance!

I would be slightly irked. Every wedding I've ever gone to, I dressed in colors. I personally see it as respect towards the bride. The bride should be the only one in white IMO.

Thanks@GryffinBride. I feel that but I think I'm mentally drained by everything else.

No. No one should wear white except for the bride. Like, I feel they know better too because why would they even think to ask that question? People have balls man.

You wouldn't be a bridezilla at all for telling them so, IMO.

Please don't put that on your invitations.

Also, it doesn't bother me but if it bothers you then just say no!

I could not care less. Nobody I know will be mistaken for the bride and it is usually hotter than hell or freezing cold here at the end of June. I want them to be comfortable and light colors (even white) may help with that. What so-and-so was wearing will be the last thing on my mind.

I would never do it, but I don't think it would bother me. If I were a guest at a wedding where another guest was wearing white I'd kind of side-eye them a bit... So I am sure they will get some sort of "judgement" from other people without you having to worry about it.

I would be a bit upset if a bunch of people showed up in white though. How many have asked?

I don't really care, but this is what I would say. "I don't feel comfortable telling grown adults what or what not to wear at my wedding.".

I find it super disrespectful. It's so easy to wear literally any other color and avoid the whole issue so I'll never understand why anyone would want to do that. A little white in a pattern? Sure, no big. A solid white or predominately white dress? No way.

I feel like if they have to ask you if its okay then they probably shouldn't do it. I personally would not like it.

No. Wouldn't bother me. This is one stupid 'tradition' I wish would die.

First of all, what a strange question for people to be asking. Do they really not own a non-white appropriate dress or outfit?

I'm a little old school on this. I won't wear white or red to a wedding (was ingrained in me that red is too bold - yes, I know it's ridiculous but I still don't feel comfortable wearing red to a wedding; it just to be an old school southern thing).

At a friend's wedding recently, there was one woman who wore white and boy did she get a ton of side-eye along with some snarky comments directly to her. It was a bit much, but I think most people know that white is a no-no color for weddings unless specifically asked.

No, I think it's fine. No one will outdo the bride.

Lol is this the damn question of the day?

No. It's not a big deal. I don't know why people care. There are bigger things in life to care about than what color adults wear.
