Do you think the handle on the bouquet matters alot?

Taylor, on May 15, 2012 at 7:07 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 13

I got bouquets from old time pottery, very pretty, I put the white ribbon and floral tape around the handle of it on my own, and it doesn't look great, but it looks ok. Do you think it's ok, or should I get someone to do it better?

I know it's not great, but tell me what you think I should do or if it's okay. This is one of the biggest things Im paranoid about.

Do you plan on adding flowers? If you make it thicker you can add a pretty colored bow to match the wedding colors in a zig-zag pattern. Or super glue some jewels to it.

If you don't really plan on adding then you can just do a thick line of jewels on the top and bottom and leave the area where your hand(s) will be alone.

You don't have to add flowers if you don't want to. You could always thicken up the handle by wrapping it several times with cotton batting or anything that would bulk it up - the ribbon would then hide that but give you something a little more substantial to hold on to.

If you want, you can add pearls or something shiny to the handle as well. Look at this pic of my topiary - if you look at the stem of the topiary where I wrapped it with pink ribbon, you can see where I glued on just a few pearl sprays.

If you want help with anything just PM me :-)

Here are some tutorials if you want to look at how to make your bouquet bigger and how to do the handle.

making and how to wrap tips.... ***Be sure to hold your bouquet before you start wrapping and have someone take a picture of your hands... you don't want the stems sticking out too far ****

It looks like you just took the stems from the store and wrapped them. If you could put each flower on an individual wire you can shape your bouquet more to how you want it to be. ~ good luck ~
