Do you think you spent too much???

We came in way under budget-- we went buffet instead of sit down, had fewer guests than expected, didn't serve any alcohol. Also, my dress cost about 1/2 what we'd budgeted.

To think that the total of our wedding would cover paying off all my student loans makes me feel foolish. But that's just what weddings cost here and I really felt that there was a level of propriety to uphold and meet when we made our big choices. I try not to think about it too much bc it just makes me sad.

I truly, truly wanted to get married at Town Hall or in our church with our close (as in brothers, sisters, parents-which is 26 people) family for dinner. My Fh, my mom and his mom had other plans. I got bombarded. I am just not that strong of a person to be able (or want to) deal with that. Well my concession was that FH could have his wedding (which in his super deluded head I (roll my eyes) deserved) was that we can't do anything. We have to make sacrifices. Well last night was Mariano's last night and of course I REALLY wanted to go. Fh got super cheap tix offered. But I had to be the grownup and say no. So yeah, today and last night I hate all things wedding. Especially now that it reminds me that we could have gone on a month long vaca.

We are over budget but not by much. It has been really hard and thankfully I ave been planning for TWO years but our original budget was between 3/5K haha now I am at $6500 BUT we have a lot paid off already and still a lot left to pay off but my wedding isn't until June but we refused to use credit cards or take out a loan and we didn't want to use ALL of our savings and be in debt so we are having a nice but conservative wedding not over the top but still beautiful. I splurged on my flowers because I love flowers and my dress, although the bulk of our money is going to the venue/catering.

Absolutely! I wished I would have done something smaller for 1/2 the price.
