Do you trust these officiants on wedding wire

I just want to know how you do it if some of them don’t allow office visits because of Covid .

I read the reviews, then sent an email. THEN we arranged a phone call. You can pretty much tell a persons personality from several conversations. The first person I talked to got great reviews, but after a little bit I could tell she was not the right fit for me, my vision and wedding. Very 'by the rules' and not flexible. The second officiant - omg - it was instant 'click'. Ask tons of questions, read reviews and trust your gut.

We interviewed our officiants (and most other vendors) via a Teams/Skype meeting. We still knew right away who we clicked with, and who we didn't.

We’ve only talked to our officiant on the phone and felt comfortable enough hiring her just based on that conversation. She also had great reviews and seemed very prepared and able to do what we need.

Most vendors offer telephone and video calls to interview them. You can tell before you end the call if you click with them or not.

What questions are you asking? I’m trying to decide between two of my friends?

The two most important things, for me, was "How many weddings have you officiated?" and "How flexible are you with other participants?"

The officiant sets the tone for the whole wedding ceremony. Stuttering, mispronounced names, or lack of self confidence can just ruin the event. Trust me, I have been to several weddings where the officiant either looked like he was in front of a firing squad, or just the opposite, seemed to care less. I don't know your friends, but if they are officiating for the first time??? I sure would be leery (no offense intended)

This brings me to my second question. We recently moved to Florida, so we know NO ONE. My childhood friend of 52 years is a justice of the peace - in New Hampshire. Of course Florida doesn't recognize this as a legal officiant. It was vital to my FH and I that she somehow be a full partner in the ceremony. The officiant we chose had absolutely NO hesitation when I posed this question, giving lots of positive options to make my gf involved. (She is doing a handfasting ceremony)

I can't tell you how to choose, I just know out of the 3 officiants I talked to, Weddings by Bonnie made me feel as though I was talking to a new best friend - just an instant "click", this is the one.

We found our officiant here on WeddingWire. It started with a recommendation that came up in my feed, which then led to me sending her an email. After the email exchange, we had a phone call, and after that, we had our first meeting. I would reach out to those who you feel inclined to contact and then just ask about their preferred meeting methods. With things opening up again and mask mandates on their way out, you'll probably have an easier time meeting in person than you would have a year ago.
