Do you wear your engagement ring down the aisle?

LOL I feel like this is a stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. Are you supposed to wear your e-ring down the aisle, or does your S.O. place both the e-ring and wedding band on your finger during the ceremony? Or is it personal preference? This is why I ask. I haven't gotten my rings...

This is why I ask. I haven't gotten my rings soldered. I planned on it, but relatives convinced me not to (but I may after the wedding, if I still prefer it). My wedding band is a guard/wrap, so the e-ring will sit between the two bands. FH can't exactly just slide the wedding band onto my finger without me taking the e-ring off during the ceremony.

The Best Man will be holding onto our rings. Should I just let him hold onto my e-ring as well? Or simply remove the e-ring during the ring exchange and have FH place it in the guard before sliding the rings onto my finger?

My SIL wore her's on the right hand than switched it after the ceremony, I plan to do the same. I never want to take it off!

I was wondering the same thing. I don't think I'll be able to wear mine on my right hand, it fits really tight on that side and I might not get it off! lol.

I think I'm going to keep my E-ring on the left and just switch the order after the ceremony. My ring fits perfectly on the left and I don't want to chance moving it from hand to hand. One less thing to worry about.

Not a chance my engagement ring is fitting on my right hand. Its way too big for my pinky and too small for my ring finger or any others. I don't mind wearing it on my left ring finger like normal and then FH will just put on the band.

Wow. I never thought about it. I think I will wear it on my right. When he gives me the band, can I put my ering again? On top?

I wore it on my right hand during the ceremony and switched it over afterward.

My something old/blue is a blue sapphire ring my dad gave to my mom and she wore in their wedding. That will be on my right hand. So I'm planning to wear e-ring for ceremony, have FH put wedding band on during ceremony and then I'll just switch the order after the ceremony.

I wore mine, let H put the band on top of it, then flipped them after the ceremony. With an enhancer I think you either have to give it to the best man as a set or take your ering off right before the ring exchange and have him put them together then onto your finger.

I'm wearing mine as I walk down the aisle but I'm also putting my wedding band on top because it looks better that way. I think it's all a matter of personal preference.

My right hand ring finger is fatter than my left so it won't fit there so I'm probably either wearing it down on the left and switching them after or just having FH put both on when the Best man gives them to him.

Wear your e-ring on your right hand down the aisle and immediately following the ceremony switch over the e-ring on top of your wedding band. Simple. Same thing I'm doing.

Oh I couldn't wear my ring on my right hand even if I wanted to. I actually just tried, and my right ring finger is a little larger than the left! It can barely get past my knuckle so I'm not going to mess with that.

@H that's exactly why I wanted to get my rings soldered. I'd never wear my wedding band alone; it just doesn't look right without another ring since it's a guard. But I was going to do the same if I went through with soldering them prior to the ceremony. Not necessarily the superstition, but I just thought it would be strange to wear the wedding band before I was even married lol.

Wow I seriously always thought the wedding band just slipped on top of the e-ring and then the order was switched after the ceremony! Now I'm seeing that putting it on the right hand is an option...

I just tried that and noticed that I have a very distinct ring tan line on my left hand! How would that look on the pictures/video as he slides on my wedding band! Hahaha! E-ring will be staying on my left hand Smiley laugh

This is good to know information, though! #themoreyouknow

I'm having my rings soldered now and so that I don't have to be without them after we're married. It's been an adjustment being without my e-ring both I think will be worth it

I wore my engagement ring on my left ring finger and H placed the band on top of it. I switched them after the ceremony so the wedding band was closest to my heart.

I just wore it normally. Swapped the wedding and engagement rings over after the ceremony.

I think that with the style you are describing, he should put both on you since they fit together to essentially form one ring. If it were the more typical two band style you would wear your engagement ring on your right hand during the ceremony.

@rosered, Thanks! I totally agree. I didn't have a picture of the wedding band on me or else I would've attached a photo. I just described it as a guard to get my point across.
