Do you wear your engagement ring when you sleep and take a shower?

I have a 3 tier ring so its big and gets hit,caught on everything so I don't wear mine as often as I should. im just worried that ill damage my beautiful ring that my FH paid so much money for. When i do have it on i do take it off to wash my hands or do any kind of cleaning or washing dishes and i don't sleep with mine

Mine is always on, unless I'm putting on lotion. I don't cook atm, but I would also take it off for things like making hamburgers or doing heavy cleaning. I had actually never heard of anyone taking off their ring to sleep before a thread on WW!

I don't sleep in mine (over time, the sheets act like sand paper on the prongs) or wear it when I shower/clean/go to the gym. I got a cute little ring holder so if it's not on my finger..I still know it's safe.

I take mine off for school because im in microbiology and we deal with chemicals so i only wear it the other times.

I take my ring off frequently... ALL THE TIME at work, and thankfully I haven't forgotten it there as of today. Typically, I take it off when I come from work and then it stays off unless I am going somewhere. I do occasionally forget to put it on in the morning for work like maybe once a month or so. This isn't specific to my ring though, I am like this with ALL jewelry. Idk why, but I just don't like the feel of it on my body, so I end up taking off earrings, bracelets etc and leave them laying around. Needless to say, I have a "designated" place for the ring - a crystal holder my "work mom" (my absolutely FAVORITE co-worker, sweetest lady everrr I love her to pieces!) got for me after she saw it laying on my desk

I only take mine off when I put on lotion or am doing something like mixing cookie dough. I figured with the cost of it, it better hold up to a little abuse!

I almost always take mine off when I'm home(cooking, cleaning, sleeping, showering). When I'm not wearing it at home it is on the straw of my huge water cup that I carry with me to keep myself drinking water.

When I am at work I only take it off to put on moisturizer and than it either goes in my pocket or sits infront of me on my desk till my hands dry, then it goes back on.

I take it off frequently. I don't like wearing rings ALL of the time and it's also not good to wear it in the shower with soap build up, etc.

I take mine off a lot, I wear it out but I'd say most of the time I'm home it's in the jewelry box. I also don't wear it to the gym. I'm too afraid of it slipping off or getting it super dirty or gross.

I leave it on 24/7 your hand gets used to it after about two weeks. I don't understand why people take it off. Get it insured if you're worried

I wanted my ring one size bigger bc my fingers swell so I take it off when I wash dishes, mix raw meat, apply lotion or hair products and when showering (I used to shower w/ it on but when I was bathing the dogs one day it flew off my finger and almost rolled down the drain). You don't understand why people take a ring off? What does that even mean - everyone has different jewelry preferences. What is there to "understand"? I mean, get a grip, it's a ring - it doesn't mean you are LESS engaged or married because it's not on 24/7. Geez. Some women needs a reality check. You won't die if it's not on your finger.

Only when I shower. I will wear it to the gym. I even wear it when I waitress at my pt gig.. It gets dirty, I just clean it when i get home.

Always take off when I sleep- more because my fingers swell some at night and it is uncomfortable. Sometimes when i shower. usually when i am prepping dinner or eating messy (like crab legs)

I take mine off to shower (I don't even like to get my ring wet when I'm washing my hands), sleep, clean, and work out.

@Aniesa My ring is insured, but that doesn't give me a license to be careless with it. I'm used to wearing rings, FH gave me a sapphire ring for our anniversary that I wore for years. My ring is worth quite a bit of money and I don't want to tempt fate by doing something silly and ruining it. I can get a replacement, but the sentimental value won't be there. It won't be the same ring that FH gave me.

I take mine off when I sleep and shower. Though my ring is insured, like dealing with any insurance company after an accident, I'm sure it'll be a pain in the ass to try to get it replaced if something were to happen (not to mention the sentimental value of having the ring that my FH proposed to me with).

I only wear it when I leave the house. I don't like rings on when I'm home.

I always have mine on unless I'm cleaning, doing yard work or handling raw meats. I also take mine off when I put lotion on.
