Do you wear your veil to the reception?

So obviously if you have a veil you'd wear it during the ceremony and for pictures, but do you keep your veil on during the reception? Does it depend on how long/in the way the veil is? Is it just a personal preference? Or does everyone seem to do one or the other? One of my bridesmaids was saying...

One of my bridesmaids was saying I'd take it off before the reception when I bustle my dress which would make sense, but I wasn't sure if that's a standard thing that everyone does or if it depends on the person.

When did you take off your veil if you had one? Or when do you plan to?

I am planning to have a fingertip veil to wear during the grand entrance and first dance, but I will remove it after.

Hi Gen!! This is such a great question and definitely something to think about! It is honestly personal preference and what you're comfortable with. I have worked with brides that I have chosen to wear their veils the entire day, and they're fine with it. I've also worked with brides who have chosen to wear the veil during the ceremony and for pictures. Before the reception, you could switch it out for a cute tiara or hair accessory!

I had a really long veil so I took mine off for the reception but it's up to you. If you want to take your veil off later, let your stylist know so that they don't pin it to any accessories that you might want to keep on for the whole night. I also would not reccommend keeping on a floor length veil all night. Everyone will step on you =/

I plan on wearing a cathedral veil for the ceremony, and was contemplating buying a shorter one to wear during the reception. is this crazy? A friend of mine just got married and wore her veil throughout the reception and i thought it was super cute.
