Do your bridesmaids all have flowers?

Shayna, on May 14, 2021 at 4:27 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13
Hi fellow brides! I’m trying to cut costs a little and thinking about cutting the bridesmaids bouquets and corsages for the moms. Is anyone else having their bridesmaids with no flowers? I’m over budget and this is an expense just for pictures it seems! Is it worth it?!

They will probably need to hold something so your pictures do not look awkward. You could make bouquets, use faux flowers or even have them carry one larger flower (lily, Rose etc) each. Depending on your theme they could carry an object too.

My florist was super late so the only photos I have of my girls with their bouquets are them walking down the aisle. Our group shots don’t look awkward at all.

Krissey’s ideas are really good—I love the look of one large flower with a hanging ribbon. You can purchase really nice looking faux flowers on Amazon or at Michaels or Hobby Lobby on sale/with a coupon. Skipping corsages for the mom is absolutely fine.

I used grocery store hydrangeas and spent only $15 per bridesmaid bouquet! And it was super easy. Wrap with floral tape and then some ribbon. I didn’t do my corsages but they can probably be done the same. I have Kroger here and they have bouquets for like 5 or 6 dollars and you can use those flowers to make a couple of corsages if you want them.

Thank you! Yes I was on Etsy in the middle
Of the night and think I’ll just go with silk flowers for the ceremony and real
    For reception!

A single flower with a ribbon that you could make yourself for your bridesmaids will look beautiful and be inexpensive.

No this is where I cut my costs! I was the only one with a bouquet and the photos still turned out wonderful! Definitely not worth the cost (my bridesmaids didn’t walk down the aisle — the ringer bearer and I were the only ones who walked) ps sorry for the quality but WW always makes them blurry when I upload from my phone Do your bridesmaids all have flowers? 1

Personally I feel like your bridesmaid need something!! It's not a cost I would cut. But with that being said, there are many alternatives to fresh flowers! You can diy bouquets using fake flowers, you can buy wood flowers, you can buy flowers in bulk and make your own bouquets (Sam's club or Costco sell beautiful flowers and I know there's several companies online that do too), and there's also other alternatives to flowers. You can do just a bouquet of baby's breath..it looks so pretty and is very inexpensive! or make some paper fans or carry hoops. Facebook marketplace is worth checking out too, you never know what you can find there. Here's a few different ideas I found that might be less expensive than traditional fresh flowers but would still be something for your girls to carry.

There's a lot of cheap options like if you go to dollar tree or a craft store, they're so inexpensive for faux flowers

One of my friends had each of her bridesmaids walk down with a single calla lily and it looked really pretty! Something simple might be nice to do, especially if they are walking down the aisle.

I would have them hold something. Having them stand up with nothing in their hands will look odd. Also, it might cause them to fidget with their hands during the ceremony.

All of these alternative suggestions are fine, if they are in your budget and you like them. But I just wanted to point out that no one ever thinks groomsmen need something to hold or they won't know what to do with their hands/they will look awkward/photos will look weird. Women can manage their own hands the same as men! Smiley winking
