Do your satin chair sash/table runner scrunch up?

summer, on January 13, 2010 at 9:22 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9

Hi girls,

I've been looking for cheap chair ties and table runners. I bought a sample from a pretty affordable site, but when I got it I was horrified! The edges are not hemmed very smoothly, so they scrunch up really bad. I cannot imagine putting it down on a table, as they barely lay flat due to the scrunched up edges.

Did you have problem with your bought sashes/runners? If yes how do you fix it? If not can you please tell me where you got yours? I'm looking for something below $1.2 a piece.

Thanks!

You might try ironing the table runner? here's another site to check. satin table runners are $2.75

Also try www.cvlinens.com they have regular and wide chair sashes. you could really get away with using the wide chair sash as a table runner. the dimensions are very close and it's cheaper.

I've ordered some from efavormart.com and they were okay. Yes, steaming them is the best idea. Or possible lightly mist them with water, especially if they are a cheap satin.

The average person does have a steamer just laying around their house. if you are concerned about burning the fabric, use an ironing cloth. they sell them at joann's or you could simply use a pillowcase to lay over top of it while you iron/press.

    Thanks girls!

The chair sash I bought was actually from CVlinen (not sure if I got a bad one since I've heard good things about them). I was able to use a regular iron and iron out the curls to a bearable minimum. But now my issue is the fabric is not even in width. Some part is actually up to half inch wider than others, so when laying down on a table it doesn't look straight at all.

I'm contemplating trying one from efavormart or linentablecloth. If you've bought from them. can you please let me know if their cut is at least straight? Because I need table runner too, so the unevenness in width will be very obvious.

    Thanks!!

Yikes! that sucks. thanks for the heads up about cvlinen. It may be that you just got a bad one. Did you contact them and ask them to send you another sample?

Yeah. We exchange a few emails and I asked if they can send me a sample of the table runner (I spent 25 dollars on samples already so didn't want to pay any more). But I haven't heard back from them =(
