Does anyone have a twisted band diamond engagement ring? And what kind of wedding band did you get?

Casie, on July 12, 2016 at 9:30 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 43

I have a twisted engagement ring and I can't find a wedding ring to match it. What did everyone else do with a twisted engagement band.

I went back to Zales, which is where he got it, and they ordered me a contour band. I think the lady said it had to be contoured side it was a twisted band ring.

I have a twisted engagement ring and thought I wanted a twisty band for the wedding band, but when I tried some on it detracted from the beauty of the engagement ring. I tried on a straight and dainty pave band and actually really liked that, so that's what I'm going with. It's worth it to go to a Kay's or similar chain to try different bands up against it. Good luck!!

Same situation and same solution as Alison. My engagement ring is so beautiful, we just went with a simple channel set band and it's a lovely addition without detracting from my ring

Do you have a picture? I just got a thin straight band. Mine has a pretty simple twist though.

ETA: I agree with previous posters. I have such OCD when it comes to things lining up properly that I was dead set on a band that sat flush. I found one and it turned out that I hated it because it kinda looked like one ring. I want my wedding band and engagement ring to be equally represented. A straight band was the perfect solution.

I do. I'm leaning towards a custom shadow band or a band that is also twisted. I still want to visit jewelry stores to try a few more on to help me decide.

I went with the matching band. So they're both twists.

I'm going to have just a plain white gold band. This is my ring.

I also tried on a plain band. Here's a picture if you're looking for inspiration!

I do, I plan to go back to the store FH got mine at and try to find a match. Online they have a perfect fit but they called today with a quote, and I just don't think we can afford it. I'm a RN so I just can't justify spending 1000+ on a wedding band that i have to take off 3 times a week for work. I'd like a plain one I can wear all the time and never take off but deep down I REALLY want the matching set.....maybe I'll save up for it myself....

My ring is a simple princess cut with diamonds on the side and a twist

You could totally rock a straight band with that ring (which is gorgeous btw). It's not such a dramatic twist and it's symmetrical. It would still look balanced. Have you tried straight bands on yet? Or are you stuck on matching? I spent months trying to match and never thought to try unmatching bands.

You may have to go custom then. I looked at that option and scrapped it right away when I got a quote. WAY out of our budget.

ETA: my FH custom designed my ring through a small jeweler though so there was literally no option but to get a custom band if I wanted it flush.

I don't think the straight one looks bad at all!

I got a band that matched the twist- I tried on straight bands but it drove me crazy. My ring is from Kay and they had a matching set of bands to go with it.

Me either! I like them together. You can easily tell that you are wearing a wedding band because it's not getting lost against your engagement ring. But, I totally get the need for it to match. If it will bother you, don't settle. You may regret it. And replacing jewelry is costly. lol

I have a twisty band too! The band that is made for it I didn't prefer though so I picked one similar, it's got a little dip in it. I also wanted something that I would like if ever I choose to just wear the wedding band one day.
