Does anyone have wedding insurance?

wifeytobejuly17, on March 8, 2017 at 4:12 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 18

How much should I expect to pay for wedding insurance? Where do you get it from? Gah. I've google'd it but I guess I'm a little confused on what I should be looking for.

Maybe ask your venue? We're getting our insurance through our venue, although they're pretty inclusive and also offer floral services, limo stuff, etc. We paid $200 for the insurance.

We have wedding insurance! It is very important so nothing comes back on you! Our venue requires. Some wont require it but will have a clause stating that you are responsible for any incidents related to the wedding etc.

We are having a destination wedding and added a lot more coverage from the basic package. We ended up paying $500 for everything but I think the basic package is around $250. Check ALL the website, they have different prices and deals.

I have a $1 million liability insurance and a cancellation policy for up to $30k. I think I paid roughly $400.

I've looked at WedSafe. I need to purchase it ASAP, but based on my venue location and number of guests, it was going to be like $200.

Yes, you definitely need wedding insurance. We see things going wrong on here all the time. Better to be safe than sorry.

I've used tulip insurance for conferences and I'm pretty sure they do weddings. It was easy and really reasonable.

According to US News and World Report, if you're having a low key affair, wedding insurance isn't really necessary. If a couple has a lot of vendors and an expensive venue, they can definitely recoup some of those charges if the vendors break their contracts. However, if I recall correctly, you're having a very DIY wedding, down to the food (waffles, right?).

The type of insurance you may want to consider is special event liability insurance to cover you in case someone drinks too much and damages the venue or someone falls and breaks their ankle.

    Oh wow thanks everyone!

Rachel D- no no lol no waffles. must be thinking of someone else. We do have a very DIY wedding tho.! But okay special event - yes ! i am worried about someone drinking too much and getting hurt. I have never been to a wedding where this has happened BUT i'd rather be safe than sorry!

and yes 120-130 guests Smiley smile thanks everyone im gonna check these out!!!!! I didn't know if it was totally necessary or not- but I think i'd just worry if I didn't. My venue clause says I'm responsible if we burn the place down lol. Which i dont see happening cos we have zero candles or sparklers or anything with a lighter- but still- rather be safe than sorry.

Then I offer you my apologies for confusing you with the waffle bride. If you're concerned about liability, then spend the few hundred and relieve the stress.

You can also add it onto your homeowners insurance. We haven't looked into it but the venue we are eyeing wants coverage for $1 million Smiley surprise
