NO SELF CATERING! No venue will let you do it anyway... have you looked into BBQ or Italian? And we can't help you since we don't know your location anyway...

I would think a VFW, church/religious recreation hall, or PAL might have space for that budget.

However, I think that "bringing food" should mean you are hiring a professional, licensed caterer to feed your guests.

I would check into local fire company banquet halls. My dad is a volunteer firefighter and we are having our reception at his company's banquet hall. Some around here do catering themselves and don't allow you to bring in your own food but others will. We're having ours catered by a BBQ restaurant.

Don't self cater.

And 500.00 really isn't enough money.

For something that price, I would look into restaurants, or use Yelp to find smaller venues in your area that don't specialize in Weddings

I have no clue where you're located, but we got a really great deal with our venue - we're able to have ceremony and reception both for $687. BUT we're required to have professional catering, and even if we weren't I still would because of all the things that can go wrong with a potluck.

I know a lot of halls that rent for less than $500. Do you want to know about the ones in NH, MA, or maybe somewhere near you? Location helps...

Eek i am also getting married labor day weekend we have had our venue since sept and we only got that date because the people who had it previously cancelled and it became available right before we looked there.

And like PP we cant help you with out a location and NO self catering please!
