Does anyone out there have mismatched wedding bands?

Bee, on September 11, 2013 at 7:24 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 15

My rings don't match, but I love them! I wanted an antique art deco ring from the 1920's, and when my mom gave me my great great grandmother's gold band I knew I wanted that to be my wedding band, but it doesn't match my engagement ring (which I also absolutely love) Just wondering if anyone else out there actually truly loves their mismatched set or is it just me? (This is a photographer pic) :-p

My band is going to be platinum and FH will have a yellow gold band. That's about the only mis-match for us.

I love that pic of the rings. =)

Mine won't really be "missmatched" because we are having my wedding band made but, my band will be gold and my engagement ring is two toned (yellow gold top with a white gold band) but my wedding band is being made from my mom's wedding band (diamonds and gold). All the diamonds in my engagement ring are princess cut and my mom's wedding band diamonds are round cut but who care! The significance behind it is what matters Smiley smile

I have a feeling no one else has miss matched rings because I have never seen it posted before, but if you do I would love to see pictures!

I have a family heirloom solitaire and then a new half-diamond band that were not coordinated but are both white gold.

Mine I bought separately, but they kind of match. I guess. The diamonds are the same cut but my band is channel set and my engagement ring is a solitare

Mine don't match. I currently have my antique e-ring from 1912 (white gold) and a titanium wedding band. I don't wear them together though. We plan on buying a mismatched band to wear with my e-ring eventually. Traditional bands look weird with the e-ring and I don't like curved bands. I love Anna Paquin's set (last picture) and I think it will look similar.

I won't even have a wedding band on my left finger. My engagement ring is so oddly shaped that I might have to have it on my middle finger.

Aw, I love it! I am happy to see and hear about all of your eclectic choices! I think even you ladies with subtle differences sound like you have a lot of character in your set. I think it also makes your set look a little less dated, because the matching set styles change so fast you can tell what decade a lady was married by her set. I love the antique and the different colors and settings! You ladies have beautiful rings! It seems like brides are putting alot more of their personality into their wedding set than in the past, its not just one traditional option anymore, (as with a lot of other areas of weddings) and I love to see all of the fun sets brides have put together! :-D

Mine don't match either. The E-ring wasn't part of a set and ishow it's shaped doesn't allow a band to sit flush to it, plus,

ETA I only wanted a thin band for a wedding band because I didn't want someone knocking me over my head for my wedding jewelry and so the settig in the band is different than the one in the e-ring as well. I love them both

My rings were my grandmother's and his ring was his grandfather so they don't match.
