Does Dermablend really work?

Robbi, on June 15, 2018 at 10:35 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 7

I have an opening on the back of my wedding dress, for the life of me, I can't remember what the correct terminology of that hole is called....anyways, I have some acne problem areas visible on that opening. I have talked to two difference seamstresses to try and cover the area w/ a sheer fabric, but it's proving too difficult. This leads to my question; does anyone have any experience with Dermablend for covering acne? Does it really work? I know there are diff types: one that's recommended for just face and one that's recommended for just body, etc. I've researched to not use the stuff for your body on your face because it will greatly dry it out. Has anyone ever used the face foundation on your body? Thanks!!

I 100% wouldn't use face foundation on your body; they're very different. Foundations are tricky because regardless of what it is, if your dress touches it- its going to rub off. Then 1. you have foundation on your dress 2. it's no longer covering your sports.

I personally would lean against doing this!

Is there any other way to cover up spots? I’m having the same issue with my strapless dress...

Dermablend does work, however it’s very greasy and ends up looking cakey. It also rubs off really easily. If you want something that works good for that area for acne I would suggest trying the murad acne control for the body. It works awesome, no makeup needed.

    Thanks!

Does it rub off easily w/ the powder you're supposed to use on top?

I've tried other acne body washes but nothing seems to work the way I would like it too. It's something that I've struggled w/ for years. Do you happen to know what makes this brand so different than an over the counter brand?

I tried it with both the powder it comes with and my regular face powder and it still rubbed off. As far as the Murad, I just stumbled across it looking online. I have super sensitive skin. I tried proactiv but it made me break out after a few years. I’ve had the best results with Murad, and I’ve tried countless other brands. The a new formula works awesome and doesn’t aggravate my sensitive skin or make my eczema worse.you can get it at Sephora, I’m not sure where else. At least try it, I swear by it!
