Does it bother you when people wear jeans to a wedding?

Just wondering if I'm the only person where seeing people in jeans at a wedding drives them nuts? I want to yell, you do realize your at a wedding?!

I loooooooathe jeans at weddings or any other special occasion. I had people show up to my father's funeral in sweatshirts and jeans, and other super casual attire. I had to remind myself they do things less formally in his hometown and that it wasn't a personal affront. Because, yeah, I was in a dress, and DS and my sister wore nice suits.

But I'll say straight up that I hate sloppiness in general - I think things like sweats, flip flops and Uggs are meant to be worn around the house, not in public. I think taking pride in your appearance is healthy.

It makes me cringe. I feel like it's a respect thing. The bride is all dolled up in something beautiful for her Big Day, at least make a little bit of effort!

We only had one gentleman (50+ years old) wear jeans to our wedding. He's a good friend of my parents and he wears jeans, nice ones to every occasion. Doesn't matter if it's a wedding or a funeral. He owns a successful company, so it's not a money issue. Oh well.

I also loathe people wearing jeans to church. I will never do that. It's either a dress, skirt or a nice pair of pants.

Places Jeans DONT belong includes FUNERALS and WEDDINGS!!! I hate it. When I walk in to a funeral and someones in jeans Im like youre paying your last respect in jeans, what were your nice pants in the wash? And weddings, this bride and groom paid thousands of dollars to entertain you, atleast spend a few dollars more and get khakis.

Of course my mother and I usually show up overdressed and I walk around all day feeling out of place lol.

And to the Short dresses, I hate that as well its not a dance club, yes there is a dance floor but if I see you out there "grinding" any of my family members on the dancefloor like its a dance club I am going to be embarrased and possibly a little upset. No butts or boobs should be hanging out!

Cutouts in dresses are bad too, I went to a wedding where a girl had on what looked to be fetish dominatrix type shoes (6 inch shiny leather really strappy wrapping up her leg) and a bright red dress that was low cut, short and had the sides cut out.... I was

Embarassed for her, she looked like she rolled out of the strip club for the night, the bride and groom were pretty upset I think too because no one would talk to her all night including them

@ kelly - I feel the same way about white. I will be asking our guest to wear black and white to our wedding. Like you said no one can out shine the bride. We are going to try to get to our guest through FB, invites and word of mouth.

I hate jeans at wedding, but i also hate girls who dress like hoochie mamas or wear white dresses or bright red..please they are just trying to seek attention and its obvious, but truth be told they are not outshining anyone just making an a$$ out of themselves..to me the jeans is usually just ignorance and laziness but the hoochie clothes,or wearing a white dress is more deliberate and would piss me off more!

Just had this argument with my fiance tonight! We are getting married outside in July in Texas. Yes, it is hot. But no, it isn't casual! I think the tone should be set by the invitations and by no means are our invitations casual! Khakis and a pearl snap or button up is SOOOO much nicer than jeans! My fiance thinks they are ok and actually told a guest tonight that our wedding was casual/relaxed. I was SO mad! Is it really that hard to get a little dressed up for a special occasion?

Ok, had to vent! Wedding is coming up and I am getting overwhelmed!

If you really care that much about what fabric someone's pants are made out of you seriously need to re-evaluate your priorities in life. And pull out the stick.

Well, I don't think like that. For me if a person feels comfortable on what He/She wear than nothing matter. I like my best bootcut jeans very much.

I’d rather my guest be comfortable! A lot more things to worry about then who’s wearing jeans! I had no expectations for my wedding at all I think people these days are to fussy. My poor boy was so unhappy with his shirt and trousers on he had them for the pics then we changed him

Yup. Like you can even throw on a pair of leggings, just don't wear jeans.

Yes it does! My first cousing made her own weddring dress. It took her months to make it. And her sister-in-law to be, arrived at the wedding wearing a denim mini - skirt!

And. I attended a wedding at a nudist colony, where the wedding was held on the shore and in a shallow, pristine creek / shallow river in a shaddy, sun dappled woods! And that was very respectful and divine in an "Adam & Eve" way.
