Does it matter whose name goes first?

Etiquette states that it is the brides name first until marriage. Afterwards, the mans name comes first.

But I say do what you want

I was told that the female's name goes first on any pre-wedding stationary and anything for the wedding because after the wedding, the man's name goes first on everything.

This is the last time that you will see or hear your maiden name, so you might as well make it epic.

Tradition was that it was known as the brides wedding. Brides name is always first. Because once you are married and the wedding is over you will be known as Mr & Mrs (first initial and your new last name) that being said it is the couple's choice. Just please choose wisely and have a great life together.

Saying it “has” to be a certain way is just so silly and antiquated. You do what sounds best to you! I like my fiancé’s name first personally, however, I switched it up here and there on different wedding items. If it offends someone then that’s their problem.
