Does the bridal suite matter?

Nicole, on September 6, 2019 at 8:20 AM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 0 7
When choosing a venue, how much should the bridal suite accommodations affect your decision?

Long answer: it depends on you & what you want
    My opinion: not that much.

Having a bridal suite was a nice to have, not necessary item for us. I wanted pictures getting ready in it bc it’s newly redone and beautiful! But we can’t even show up to the venue until 11 am and H&MU needs to start much earlier than that so I’m going to be getting ready in the hotel room with my girls and then just slip into the dress at the bridal suite. Well use it for some pics.

I’m a little disappointed because I thought I’d have more time to use it and i feel like since I’m paying for it I should be able to use it haha

but all in all it’s a very small disappointment. And I still get to use it, just not what I imagined. I’m just being fussy.

    Hi Nicole Smiley smile

Does the venue you're looking at have a bridal suite? Would you like to get ready on-site? Is this important to your search?

It was pretty important. We are doing a first look, so I wanted a bridal suite because I know I'll want to touch up my make-up. Also I'm going to make a dress change.

In the beginning of my search I thought it was very important. However we lucked out with the venue we selected! They are going to have my FH in the near-by hotel and me at the venue. It’s such a nice space and they will cater too! I think it’s a nice perk but I don’t think it should be a make or break situation. If you love the venue, love it.

I had seen some crappy suits where it was literally a hallway and 3 people couldn’t even fit in it. But I didnt like that place anyway sonit all worked out for us! Good luck!!

I'm happy you found your venue! Do you mind sharing it with me just in case it might be off our radar? Thanks!

Sure! We are having our wedding at Mountain Valley golf course. It’s about an hour or so away from the Lancaster area.

It's really all about your preference... what do you want?! I will say I stayed in a hotel the night before and of my wedding, a Hampton Inn. It wasn't the best hotel, but not the worst. It was just ok. The "suite" was just a room with a king size bed and little sitting area. There wasn't much room at all. When my bridesmaids (7 of them) and I were trying to get ready it didn't provide much space. Also, the photos of us with our dresses before we actually put them on and the first look I did with my bridesmaid weren't very good. So just think about it in that sense.
