Does this look ok?

So I couldn't justify spending the money on a neon sign, and I thought this might work instead. Does it look ok or is it tacky?

Also if anyone has suggestions for stiffening up the rope and hanging it, that would be very much appreciated!

Right now it's hot glued to freezer paper but when I took the T off it tried to curl up. Thanks in advance for any advice!

It looks okay, but I bet when it's actually lit up it'll be cuter. I found this article but IDK if it will be helpful! How to Stiffen Rope | eHow

I wonder if mod podge would work?

I was going to say modge podge. Or even Elmer's glue painted over it all.

Thank you! I'll try the mod podge. But does it need lights? Right now its just rope and I plan on hanging just the rope on a greenery wall. Kind of going for this look but without the light.

Honestly it looks tacky and cheap to me. Have you tried using YouTube for inspiration?

I found this on Etsy. This seller would probably be able to make what you’re looking for at a nice low price point.

Thank you all, I may just go with a generic neon sign from amazon, like 'better together' or 'love' as I'm running short on time and those are more affordable than a custom design.

You could get cardboard or wooden letters from a local craft store (or order them online), hot glue them together so it's all one piece, and then spray paint them. That might hold up better than rope and stay put better.
