Does your dress have to match your color scheme?

L, on July 10, 2015 at 7:56 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 21

I really think I want a blush dress, but I don't want pink to be a part of my color scheme...I want to have purple and blue (thinking a deep purple, like a plum, and a nice, bright turquoise). Does a blush dress work with that?

I think blush is a really pretty color for a wedding gown and can work with many colors especially the ones you mentioned. Go for it!

I've been looking at Pinterest and Google etc, and unfortunately, I can't find blush with blue and purple...if it looked good I wouldn't be at all opposed to adding blush to the color scheme, but it's just something I can't visualize.

Unless you're going with a really unusual color for a wedding dress then I don't think it needs to match. Blush is a pretty standard color for wedding dresses nowadays.

I'm pretty sure I want a blush dress. Either blush or champagne...definitely not ivory or white!

I'm sorry I didn't really answer your post; my answer is No I don't think that the blush dress has to match with the color scheme. If the color scheme works together and everyone is dressed nice it will all pull together.

Love color in gowns! The only color I would want to somewhat coordinate with would be the BM's. What color do you want them in?

No it does not need to match unless you ate going very non traditional color. As for pinterest they do not have every color combo out there. My wedding colors ate an example. I am thinking a blush or champagne or gold color dress for my wedding. My colors are navy, chocolate and gold.

I love blush gowns. But you would need to incorporate the color in your wedding somehow, even if only faintly.

Quite frankly, you may change your mind about the color of your dress. So don't give up hope if I may with your color scheme.

I wanted a white lace dress, but ended up with a champagne satin dress

I want the bridesmaids in plum.

I will be wearing a colored dress for sure -- I've known my entire life that I didn't want a white or even ivory dress. I've always wanted either blush or champagne, and after trying on dresses, that was confirmed. I tried on a white dress at the request of my fiance, who didn't know that it didn't come in any other colors and I couldn't stand it without a huge splash of color, and even then, it wasn't for me. I also tried on a white one with some color, and I hated it because it simply wasn't enough color...but everyone loves blush on me, more than champagne, so I'm about 99.9% sure I'll be wearing blush Smiley smile

Colors like this, and add your bright turquoise with the plum bridesmaids and the blush dress.

If you are doing a blush dress, I would stick with just the plum and accent it with a champagne, gold or ivory. I think adding the turquoise is just too much color.

Purple is my favorite color, and blue is my FI's, so we want to use both of them...

No, I don't have my mind made up other than the things stated in my OP -- I'm pretty sure I want a blush dress and I want our colors to be plum and turquoise.

Not at all, pick a dress you love, you're not a decoration!

My gown is white and I'm adding black accents, black sash and black lace to the bottom and top of my dress. Matching nothing except my personality.

Look I love blush. It's one of my main wedding colors but the blush, plum and turquoise is just too much. If you are dead set on plum and turquoise then get the champagne dress. If you just want your ideas validated then WW probably isn't the place for you.

I think that if you absolutely love the dress and are set on having those colors then no it doesn't have to match. You're the bride it's your day you can do whatever you want!!
