Dog-friendly venues in Massachusetts

Kathleen , on May 1, 2018 at 10:09 AM Posted in Massachusetts Planning 0 7
Hello! I haven't posted here since I got married, and this question isn't actually for a wedding - but it could also apply to weddings!

Does anyone know of outdoor dog-friendly venues for corporate BBQ/picnic type events (or wedding receptions) in the Middlesex county area of Massachusetts? It would only be around 30 people and less than 5 medium/small dogs. Off-leash would be ideal but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Here's a picture of my pup just for fun!

You’re not going to find any off leash places in Middlesex County except for dog parks or someone’s backyard. Leash laws in MA are very strict. I don’t know of any outdoor venues that do anything like that in this area, with the exception of some of the mini golf courses (Kimballs is one that comes to mind), but I don’t know if they’re dog-friendly.

I don't have any suggestions, but your dog is adorable! Good luck on your search.

Kimballs allows dogs in the tented eating area but I highly doubt they allow them in the grassy event areas by the driving range! I agree with Sarah, though, it will be really hard to find a venue where the official policy doesn't restrict unleashed dogs. Your best bet would be a private space like a rental home or somewhere like the Lyman or Crane Estates.

I agree- leash laws are so strict in this area. I’m from the area, off the top of my head there’s a bunch of breweries that are pet friendly and would likely hold an event that size. One in particular, Nightshift Brewery, holds dog friendly events every Tuesday in the summer! Might be worth a call.

Your dog is adorable! Some restaurants allow dogs at their outdoor seating areas but unfortunately can't think of any venues that would allow them off-leash. MA leash laws are very prohibitive.
