Doing my own makeup?

Nicole, on February 5, 2020 at 9:16 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 10
Is anyone currently thinking about doing their own make up for their wedding day? I'm fairly experienced and I'm always told my makeup looks flawless. I'm still trying to decide if I want that added stress on my wedding day, but i know what's going to look the best on me vs. someone else. If you did your own makeup on your wedding day, do you have any tips or advice?

I'm doing my own makeup. I sell mary kay so I have experience doing my own makeup. I do experiment a bit once in awhile and will probably do more once the date gets closer.

I did my own makeup! My mom’s friend sells for Mary Kay and she helped me practice and get pretty good at it.

My best recommendation is to do self-trials on yourself until you feel comfortable! I’d just do my makeup like this for date nights in the months leading up to the wedding so I could get the hang of it lol. By the wedding day I knew exactly what I was doing and exactly how long it would take!

Also, I had one of my bridesmaids (who is really good at makeup) on standby to take over for me in the event that I was too anxious and/or shaky to do it on my own lol. But it ended up not being necessary.

I’m doing my own Smiley smile I’ve been practicing and feel super confident. I’m gonna allot a lot of time day of though just in case I panic, and I have two bridesmaids who are experienced with makeup just in case I need a little help.

If you are confident and would prefer to do your own, I think that's fine! I'd do several trial runs at home to make sure it lasts long enough (6-12 hours depending on your wedding day), and that you can do fake lashes if you want them. I think having great quality products, good primers, and very moisturized skin helps too.

I'm also doing my own makeup! I only ever use eyeliner, mascara, a brow pencil, and maybe a lipstick or some eyeshadow for fancy occasions and I just didn't feel comfortable getting full-face of makeup for such a big day when I want to look and feel like myself. Articles I read said that you'd look "washed out" without any face makeup on for professional photos, but I quickly found that to be very untrue after having our engagement photos done. I've practiced the look I'm going to do a couple of times and made notes about each step so I know exactly what to do the day of instead of winging it lol

How do you normally do your makeup and what's your wedding day look inspo? I usually wear a full face of makeup every day so I'm thinking of doing my own as well except really going more with the pigmented shadow and lashes as I want it to look bold in photos

I usually do a full face of makeup every day as well. I'm hoping to do my usual but maybe make my eyes a little more bold. I love too faced and Naked palettes for my eyes 😍

I am because I'm afraid of not looking like myself. I used to do a full vintage look anyway, so I'm comfortable with a full face. I swear by Blistex before lipstick, Besamé Cosmetics classic color lipstick (vintage reproduction line; reds for everyone!), Bareminerals BarePro foundation, color correction concealers, and a beauty blender.

I'm doing my own! I'm fairly decent at it, and I can't stomach the idea of spending the money on something that I know I can do myself, exactly how I want it.
