Doing own flowers

CountryBride, on April 5, 2021 at 2:29 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5

So I have done flowers before and I love doing them. I have done flowers for weddings however they were always fake and made well in advance, I want to make my own flowers and use real ones can I make flowers the day before and keep them refrigerated? we don't have room in the budget for a florist as I was quoted over 3 grand, for roses, should I take on this task if so when is the earliest I can do my flowers?

I have heard of a few brides who went to the store the day before or even the morning of and threw together some bouquets and floral decorations, so I don't see why you couldn't do the same! Where did you look for flowers? A lot of the grocery stores around my area do flowers for events such as weddings and they always do a REALLY nice job for a fraction of the price. So maybe talk to one of your local grocery stores that sells flowers and see if maybe you can afford them.

Where my brother-in-law and his wife live there is a place in town that will help you create your own florals so they did this for their wedding. They went on Thursday and they got married on Saturday. The place refrigerated the flowers for them and they still looked very pretty the day of their wedding. They only made the bouquets and boutonnieres out of real flowers. The rest were fake.

They don't need to be refrigerated. Just keep the stems in the flower food/water mixture. Fiftyflowers.com is very inexpensive and has tutorials on how to put them together. The construction is the same whether they are silk or fresh.

Yes, we did the flower arrangements two days before my daughter's wedding using Fifty flowers.com. They get delivered by FedEx 2-3 days before event and their customer service is outstanding. They even have already made centerpieces and you can get like 10 medium arrangements for around $120 total (and then just buy vases at the dollar store). They all held up extremely well before, during, and after ceremony.
