Doing your own makeup or hiring a professional

I debated this myself since I can do my own makeup decently well and it's harder to find an artist versed in Asian faces. But I'm so glad I hired a professional because a) I didn't want to stress about doing my own makeup on my wedding day and 2) she was able to make it last way longer than I would've on my own. I was married on a very warm summer day on a beach, our photographer (bless her heart) had us running and jumping and hiking around in the sun afterwards, and my makeup did not budge, I didn't even become very shiny which usually happens when I get hot and I'm wearing my own makeup. Seriously, it's worth it to get a <good> professional!

I went through two trials with different makeup artists and was really, really disappointed in both, style-wise and quality. After the second one (foundation was slipping after just an hour and I had glitter everywhere, plus my eyebrows were super uneven and redness on my cheeks hadn't even been touched!) I decided I would do it myself. I plan to do multiple trials and invest in a few high quality products, and I've been watching YouTube tutorials like crazy! It's a little intimidating, but I've decided I'd like to have more control over the outcome, rather than leaving it up to someone else. I wish I hadn't spent so much money on trials though! Super frustrating, honestly.

Definitely having my done professionally because they know how to make people look good in pictures and how to make it last all day!
