Don't want look like a clown

Michelle , on February 13, 2018 at 9:48 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 11
Hi ladies amd gentleman,

I could use your advise. I know a large amount of brides have their makeup done for their big day; however i am not big on others doing my makeup. I feel like it's caked on and I look like a clown even if they just do something basic. Any ideas on what I can do? I normally don't wear any makeup as I'm trying to help my ance. The picture posted is me without makeup (only have false lashes on). Sorry I'm having a bit of a crazy hair day lol. Thank you all in advance.
Sincerely
Michelle

Airbrush makeup goes on lighter than traditional makeup. You can ask for a natural look as opposed to glam. You don’t need a lot of makeup.

You look beautiful. Find a MUA that has experience with the natural look. Unfortunately professional photography can bring out your flaws, so makeup that looks natural would really help your photos.

Ok, I'm not against doing your own makeup. I'd like to start by reminding you that makeup has expiration dates. You probably have to replace a lot of it. Most of us do.
I love eye pencils, which I really recommend but be careful about anything metalic or sparkly. They tend to do poorly in flash photography.
You will want to stay away from a thick line of eyeliner over your eyes. I'd recommend lighter, creamier colors to give them a nice big, open look.
Your eyebrows are very light. You can get an eyebrow kit and spend some time on that or go to a salon and get them shaped and dyed. With all the engagement events, I'd recommend the latter.
A small amount of contouring in your cheeks might be nice. Nothing too crazy, just a slightly darker blush under your cheekbones and a lighter, rosie blush on the apple and over your cheekbones.
I hope this is the kind of advice you're looking for!

Whether you do your own or end up hiring a MUA I would stick to nude/natural makeup. I would lightly fill in your eyebrows, use dramatic false eyelashes if you don’t want to wear eyeliner, go with a more of a orange pink blush rather than a hot pink, do a nude or really light pink lip. Also foundation wise you can get one that is sheer coverage so it evens your skin tone but doesn’t come out cakey and if you want you can do a very natural Smokey eyeshadow using a very light brown and a second shade that matchs up to your skin tone

I'm not a makeup expert but I can tell you that professional MUA will definitely be able to do a more "natural look". I think mine was somewhat natural (a bit more eyeshadow than normal) and didn't feel caked on at all (it was airbrush). Look through instagram for local MUA in your area and maybe you'll find one who has done wedding looks that you're drawn to. The stress of doing my own makeup that morning would not have been good haha I was very happy to relax and know it was taken care of.

You can definitely find a wedding day makeup look that won't look overdone. Maybe try something like one of these:

You definitely want to at least have some natural makeup on. Like PPs said, it's important for photos. I personally did not like airbrush makeup on myself (I felt like it actually emphasized my dry patches and looked cakey) and I found an MUA that uses traditional foundation and it came out beautifully. I think your first step is the simply talk to an MUA and express your concerns. Mention that you want very light/minimal coverage.

I agree with pp regarding a more natural look for your big day. I also know that a professional photographer uses camera's that will pick up everything in view of the lens. You will want to have some make up on as well as filling in your brows a little. It doesn't need to be dramatic but I think you should do something. Someone mentioned airbrush and I think that may be a great option for you as it's very light on your skin.
