Double themed wedding

Has anyone ever done a double themed wedding? I want Harry Potter and the future husband wants to do anime themed (bleach or dragon ball z) I have zero ideas on how to mix these two different themes and keep it classy looking! Help!!

When it comes to themes less is more.

I really havent seen a themed wedding in real life other than on here. I think they have a tendency to horder on wedding/children's bday bnb partt unless things are done very minimally.

I agree with PP - i just dont' understand super "themey" weddings like that and I've never seen one in real life. I can't imagine having anime or Harry Potter things at my wedding and think it would seem more like a child's party.

If you must - I would stick to small things like a fun HP cake topper, maybe a grooms cake that's anime, maybe use a cool wax seal on your invites, or use Gryffindor colors for your bridal party (just an example, could use whatever house colors you like, but I wouldn't have anything specifically linking the outfits to HP). I would not have characters or anything plastered all over my wedding.

I think it is very difficult to pull off a themed wedding yet alone two different themes. My brother's wedding was Beauty and the Beast themed, but it was extremely subtle. They had blue as one of their main colors since that is the color the Beast worn. They had a rose that was covered like in the movie on their sweet heart table. They also had fake trees in the entrance of the reception space like a forest. I personally am not a fan of themed wedding because they are super hard to pull off without looking tacky.

My daughter is not having a so much a themed wedding but is putting a few touches here and there.

Table numbers will be video games they love to play. Cake toppers are video game characters. Enough touches for fun, but some people might not even notice.

Maybe you could do something like that?

We're adding small touches of hp to our wedding. Unless people are familiar with it, they won't even notice. Our cake topper says always, the memorial table will have a sign that says the ones that love us never really leave us, the favors will be skeleton key bottle openers that I'm adding wings to, FH will have a snitch in his boutoneirre and there will be a few hidden in the centerpieces, I got glass globes that hold tea lights to hang from clear string on the bannister like floating candles, the card box will be vintage luggage stacked up with our initials stenciled on a side, the groom and his groomsmen will wear socks for their houses. I don't know how to do dragon ball z in a subtle way and not sure how it would mesh with Harry Potter..except to maybe pick the colors of your favorite character like orange and blue if you like goku and blue gold and white for vegeta..etc. I've seen a Bulma and Vegeta cake topper. Maybe incorporate dragons somehow. I guess there are dragons in both dragon ball and hp..

Hey hey I say go for it! I personally love when I go to a wedding and can tell that the couple added their own personal touches to it. I went to my coworkers Harry Potter themed wedding last year and they had those magic wands sitting on our seats for us to wave at them after they said I do and walked down the aisle. IT WAS TOO CUTE and the pictures looked fantastic with all their guest pointing magic wands at them 😂😂. The smiles were huge because we had fun doing that. It was super different!

Once we got inside, their centerpieces were different scenes from the HP movies. I have no idea about the terms of HP but my table had like an apple tree thing going on but it was exactly like the movie apparently. I took a pic and sent it to my fiance and he instantly knew what it was lol. It was nice and some of us knew they loved HP as a couple so that made the experience even better. Super awwww moment lol! They even put a set of 4 HP coffee travel mugs on their registry and I BROUGHT THEM ($130 for cups YIKES lol) but I knew they loved it....so showing up to their wedding and seeing HP everywhere made that purchase worth it.

People want an experience, a good time and to watch you marry your favorite person. So I say do anything that makes you happy for your one true special day! I think your guest will appreciate those special touches. We can and have ALWAYS went to plain old weddings. A little spice is nice 😂😂 Maybe do HP at the ceremony and anime throughout the reception space. Maybe with the cake have one tier HP and another tier anime and then a regular one like the color or your wedding. Sorry it was so longgggggggggg! 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ but DO IT DO IT DO IT!!! Lol good luck!

It can be done! But probably one theme needs to be dominant. For our local reception, we did a 50's/60's swanky Rat Pack theme but my hubby really wanted to pull in some Twilight Zone. Ok, that made NO sense to me. Smiley xd But he used a few subtle elements (and only a few guests caught the references but he was happy!). He used Twilight Zone language as the story to our reception... that we were a newlywed couple trapped in time! Hence, why the vintage vibe. lol.
