Today is my mom and dads 41st Wedding Anniversary. My mom also shared her wedding day with her older sister. My mom is one of 14 and was married in Portugal.

Not sure if this was a thing but I could NEVER share my wedding day with someone else. I guess it was easier/ cheaper but talk about sibling rivalry. The funny thing is to this day they still "compete" and compare everything, including their children. They love each other, get along great, and hang out like best friend but its constant. And I'm sure it will continue until the very end.

Would any of you ever share your wedding day with someone?

Hell no. I'm too selfish. I've waited 25 years of my life and waited 10 years in my special relationship to share that day with my FH. I want it about us. Smiley smile

Nope. That's odd to me! I can see it for the expenses, but jeez.

When we got engaged, one of the first things my younger sister said was, "Cool! I'll probably be getting engaged to (BF at the time) soon and we can be engaged together!" Now, I'm no Bridezilla, but you better believe I was like GIRLLLL WAIT YOUR TURN. At least I that's what I thought in my head Smiley winking

I can't imagine this. My sister and I are very close but very different. I think there was an episode of Gilmore Girls in season 1 where twins got married on the same day at the inn Lorelai managed.

@Nancy that's pretty cool. My sister got engaged a few months after me and it honestly never crossed my mind. We do have a lot of guests in common, and depending on the situations (family illness probably) i definitely would be fine with her also getting married with me a few months early.

I'm not sure if I'd want to do that either...lol! They both look beautiful in the photo, though! =)

As someone with a twin sister, i would be so against this. our entire lives were together, the only day that could be special would be our wedding day.

I love that picture! Sharing a wedding day with your sister reminds me of the end of Pride and Prejudice. I think my sister and I would kill each other. Nope, not for me.

Wow, that picture is awesome lol. Their veils are amazing. I wouldn't ever consider a double wedding, though. I think the whole concept of more than one bride and groom would just be awkward. FH's family had suggested it jokingly in the past since his sister was also in a serious relationship at the time.

I would, assuming my sister was marrying someone that I could tolerate. I think it's cool.

@Christine if someone was sick then I totally understand doing it together. I would be all for it. But other than that I want my day to shine. I don't need my sister and I bickering over ideas. I can't imagine what they were like.

I asked my mom if she still had her veil because I want to wear it so bad. Nope she left them in Portugal :'(

ETA: @rosemary those pics are great. I can't believe so many people have seen or done this.

I could but it probably won't be a good idea. I'd be too busy trying to make her look perfect that I wouldn't enjoy my wedding. Yea, that's a bad idea.
