DRAPERY - How Much $$$$ Are You Spending???

Kathleen, on February 14, 2010 at 9:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

Is anyone getting married in a ballroom & using drapery??? How much is normal to spend on this type of decor/design element? Is is better/less expensive to hire a one-stop shop event design company or should a florist be able to create a hoopa-type canopy??? Thanks LADIES!!

Contact an event planner for a chuppah. It depends on your area of course but the price for a drapery canopy for one of the places in my area is $325.

If you'r tryinh to get the entire room draped then it would be around $3,500. I am going with Yanni Design Studio and the are really well known when it comes to drapery. If you'r getting just a canopy then I would say $500. Check aroud. It also depends on how large ur room is that you are covering. Hope this helps.

Ive asked around in my area, and it was anywhere from 400-800. I got a wedding planner who agreed to do it, and I got her on here for 595 and were buying the material in Los Angeles. I would say try something like that, buying the fabric and having a wedding planner or someone in your family decorate.

I would say first of all check around in your local area and see what the going rate is. I would go with an event decorator or a florist who has experience in creating these beautiful structures. If the florist is going to create it, make sure you see pictures of previous work. I also say you might want to look into renting this type of structure and see if it is cost effective for you. If you can rent it, make sure you fully understand everything that comes with it, which means delivery, set-up, decor, break down. Good Luck & Happy Planning. :-)

Kathleen, if you are inthe Cleveland area try Cheri's special affairs. I don't see that she has pics of drapping on her site, but I have seen her work and it's beautiful. I've talked pricing with them and it can be anywhere from $250 to $1500 depending on how much draping you are looking for and if you want to purchase the material yourself. If you are not in the area I agree withthe earlier posts that you check out local wedding/event planners.

I bought all my draping material from www.efavormart.com for $250 and I have a bunch of family and friends that are going to help put it up.
