Dress anxiety still....3 months after purchase

Anyone else have this problem? I love my dress, I do, but I'm not 100% sure it's me or the look I want. I have continued to think about the very first dress I fell in love with on my 2nd shopping trip. I know it's a HUGE no no, but I'm going to try it on again tomorrow night at another shop. Anyone...

Anyone else have dress anxiety for months after purchasing their dress?

I love the first one, but the key is you have to love it. i only tried on 1 dress and fell in love but i still look at other dresses and always think is my dress the right dress, but thats just how i am so i have to tell myself that i made the right decision.

I love the 1st, but the other ladies are right, it's all about how YOu feel..I've had that feeling about my dress awhile after buying.iI got it in November cuz it was a great deal mainly, plus i really did like it but didn't love it..when i went home again where it was over Christmas I tried it on with the slip that had finally come in to poof it out more and i fell in love with it!! finally!! But then again I didn't have a second dress that I was debating over..Good luck deciding:-)

No matter what I buy, I always second guess myself on some purchases. It would make sense on the biggest day of your life, you would second guess. I think you need to go with your heart, and what you love best. What made you buy the first one? What did you love about it? Those are the things you should think about.

I don't know "you". However, after looking at the clothes you are wearing in your pics, I would say #2 is more you...elegantly simplistic, with a twist of sexy. The first one is more "princess". Sure hope that doesn't confuse you more.

Re second guessing, I still haven't found any dress that is wowing me. The FH and I are going to Alfred Angelo on Sunday. Hopefully, I will be wowed.

    Good luck with your decision.

My opinion, you can take it or leave it - Dress 1 looks perfect on you, and if I looked that good in a dress, I wouldn't change a thing. Dress 2 doesn't have much "wow factor" to me ... But then again, I feel my own dress has minimal wow factor, lol ...

As far as the sweetheart neckline on dress 1, have you thought about a nice brooch to pin the middle of the dress down a bit? That's actually what I'm doing to turn my dress into a sweetheart neckline without alteration costs. Sounds weird, I know, but it worked out perfectly, and it really helped add some wow to my dress! Best of luck to you, I'm sure you will be a beautiful bride no matter which dress you choose!

I love your dress #1; it's just "dreamy"! #2 is so much more "down to earth". Besides, #1 looks fan-tastic on you!

@Carole you hit it perfectly. I am more simple with a twist. I never wanted to be that princess bride with the sparkly dress. The reason I chose my dress is that yes it was beautiful and I felt beautiful in it, but I truly believe that the largest motivating factor in purchasing my dress was the price and that it was being discontinued.

I'll definitely let you guys know what happens tonight when I put dress #2 back on.

I tried to post this yesterday but the stupid picture thing wasn't working. Doesn't look just like the Allure dress but with a different top?

Nik that is super pretty....but it lacks the flowers and the nice band around the waist....plus I LOVE the pleating on the 8771. And the buttons too!

I think you should stick with the one you bought it looks beautiful on you .... I'm going to do my best to stop looking at dresses after I buy mine.. there will always be the possibility of finding something you like better but once you committ to a dress it should be like committing to your FH ... you stop looking! Just my opinion!

Hi i am new to WW. But i am in the same boat, Kinda. I bought my dress at a sample sale (non refundable) and i liked it but wasnt really sure about it! It was really pretty and everyone that came with me shopping loved it, so i think thats kinda why i went ahead and bought it. After buying it i regretted it kinda, but my Grandma helped pay for it so i kinda felt obligated, I went to get the dress altered, yea they cant alter it!!!! I have a dress that is too big for me, and cant do anything with it, except TRY to sell it on craigslist....which no such luck yet! I have to sell this dress to be able to get a new one!!!!! Thats what I get for trying to save money on the dress.

The dress has beading at the sides, and the lady says if she goes to take the dress in,some of the beading will be taken out and she thinks it wont look "Right"....Its a pretty dress Maggie Sottero. The lady at the bridal shop swore it wouldn't be a problem too.

Oh no.. thats horrible ... What about the alterations department where you bought the dress are they unable to help you or maybe try a different seamstress ... alot of dresses have beading that they can work with.

The boutique didn't have in shop alterations, they had a lady who they referred their customers too, and that who i went too.....I know I never should have bought the dress, and i wouldnt have if the lady wouldnt have said it could be done!!! When i went to get it altered the lady said it had to be taken in 2'' on each side....This was a concern of mine when i bought the dress, but once again was told it would be ok. and its not. I think its the designing of the beading thats the problem.

@Brittany can you find a different alterations person?

I have a feeling alterations on the dress I have will be very pricey. They will have to hem from the waist, not the bottom. And remove beading from the top to take it in.

Mine has alot of beading as well, and I'm having mine done privately, not by davids bridal. I'm going to atleast ask her if its possible to have mine done with a sweetheart neckline. I had a friend that got her dress altered at davids bridal and I think she spent close to 200 if nor more than that. She had a bustle put in on her dress and no one could get it to stay!

Maybe, Just felt like once i pay for alterations and what is in the dress already is gonna cost more than buying a new dress that fits. By altering it, im scared that once they take the 2" of beading out it wont look right.

I wasn't planning on going to David's Bridal but even then, I know it will be expensive.

@Brittany I know what you mean....the dress may lose some of it's shape. If you really don't want to keep it (and you have plenty of time to find a new dress) there is a classified section on weddingbee.com. You can also try ebay, craigslist, oncewed.com, bravobride.com, recycledbride.com, and preownedweddingdresses.com. Good luck!

Thanks!!! I will look into those sites!!

My step mom went to davids bridal had a BAD experience....Went for dress fitting or something before the wedding, they messed her order up BIG time!! lol I dont remember what happend exactly just that she told DB they could keep the dress and she had to go find a differant dress!

I found a cheap and affordable website that sell wedding dresses cheap and they are really pretty dresses. You can custom order them to your specific sizes.
