Dress anxiety still....3 months after purchase

Anyone else have this problem? I love my dress, I do, but I'm not 100% sure it's me or the look I want. I have continued to think about the very first dress I fell in love with on my 2nd shopping trip. I know it's a HUGE no no, but I'm going to try it on again tomorrow night at another shop. Anyone...

Anyone else have dress anxiety for months after purchasing their dress?

@Brittany check them out thoroughly because it is probably a chinese replica dress. They are notorious for being of poor quality. Do a lot of research on good chinese replica website before ordering. One I've heard of that consistently gets good reviews is Jeff Liu of April's Bridal on ebay. Google April's Bridal and his store should come up. You can apparently also send him pictures of the dress you like and he'll give you a quote.

The main problem with the chinese replicas is that if the dress is lacy or has a lot of beading/detail, it will not look at all like the original. But if it is a simple dress you should be fine.

If you find a dress you love and you know what size you should order according to their size charts, you can always look for a used dress or NWT but being resold. You'll save quite a bit of money that way. You'll probably be buying a dress from girls like you and I!

The lady says the dresses are made of high quality material....but what exactly is "High Quality" to them?? And yea hopefully i can just sell my dress and then take some money outta the wedding budget some how. I can take some of the money i saved from the DJ and put to a dress, Got a dj for $185!! lol Got lucky!!

I liked my dress when I got it, but I kept looking and fell in love with so many other dresses. I wanted to buy a new dress, but I ended up keeping the original one I bought, and on my wedding day, when I was ready and put the dress on, everything looked so great that I didn't even think about the other dresses I "could have" or "should have" bought. I think your dress looks beautiful on you, and I actually really love it, but if you think you're going to be unhappy, then you should do what you feel is right. Just keep in mind, if you get a new dress and you go to sell the one you currently have, brand new or not, you will not get your money back. If you are ok with that, then you should definitely get the one you love. Smiley smile

Maybe have a bridal session with your photographer to ease your mind? Even a mini-session of 45 minutes could give you some mind-easing proof that you'll look perfect.

This is your wedding day and you don't want to second guess anything--if you aren't happy with your dress, it could change how you remember the entire day. Worse case, you buy a second dress and it takes a few months to resell the first. Buit at least you will be happy!

They're both beautiful, though the first looks like it photographs better.

I went with my gut...and changed my dress....so glad I did.

i think that if you can forget about it ....it's not the dress you love

so if you can't forget about it then its the one you love.

Beware, I am going to brag.

Irin....Wow, I called your style correctly? I am pleased with myself. My daughter(24) always tells me if she were Beyonce, I would be her stylist. Smiley smile

Have you made any decisions? Obviously, if you can't return/exchange, you should rest assured that the first one is beautiful and looks good on you.

Ok just got back a little while ago from the shop and got to try on my other dress. I loved it. It was so light and comfortable. I loved the fabric, the pleating, and the fullness of the dress. I LOVED the pockets. There is nothing I would change about it. The price was pretty good...$680 and they can get it in in time.

I went home and tried on my dress. I love them both, I do. The sparkly one has more wow to it. I feel beautiful and romantic in it. I think when it is altered to fit perfectly, I will love it even more. Will I be thinking about the other dress if I wear this one? Maybe, maybe not. The problem is I think I actually love them equally. They are so different it's hard to choose one.

With that said, I'm going to just keep my dress. I cannot justify the cost for a dress that yes I love very much, but I also love the dress I have. Maybe the other dress fits my personality, but I think my dress does too. Everyone loves it, it's beautiful and romantic....

And my FH told me he would love whatever I wear. I told him I was having 2nd thoughts today and he was mad. But he was mad because he wants me to have a dress I love. And I do. I hope it's the right one. I know it will be gorgeous the day of. I know the other one will too. Honestly, I can't lose so I'm going to stick with what I have.

Irin....I am so glad you made a decision. Always go with what is in your heart. Your happiness with the dress is all that matters.

I've never seen the dress you bought until now, the 2nd dress looks like any other IMO. You are lucky to be small figured and have your pick of thousands of dresses. I say stay with number one because it is more unique. As a bigger person my choices are limited and so I'm stuck with one of the DB dresses that we've seen over and over again. In fact I think I tried on your #2 or something very similiar as well! lol Be unique, be beautiful...be unlike others!

@Carole - the pockets are fantastic!! Almost worth it to get the dress...LOL.

@dai69 - glad you've never seen my dress! I agree with you on the uniqueness of my dress. I'm very happy now that I'm settled with my decision. Also, have you looked into Alfred Angelo? I'm not sure of your size but they have a great plus size selection!! Check them out! Smiley smile

Yeah I felt that way...bought a plain dress (because it was a killer deal) and then kept thinking wow...that dress really isn't me at all. I am too glam for a plain gown lol...so I ended up selling the first one and got a dress that SCREAMS me now :-) Go with your gut...that way you won't regret it later :-)

Ok ladies.. I read that one of you said alot of the sites that have cheaper dresses are out of china and are poor quality... I think the one I want to get dresses from is a chinese site its milanoo.com, anyone know anything good or bad about it? Or have any suggestions for other sites if i need a back up?

You are a small woman, I think you get lost in the first dress with all the fluff- I think the second one is more complimentary for your body type. You will know it when you find the "dress"! Like you can't help your self from looking at it and trying it on! Thats just this photographers opinion. Smiley winking Good luck!!
