Dress came in and it’s too big

Bridetobe2020, on January 11, 2020 at 11:48 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
My dress got in yesterday. I love my dress so much but was discouraged when I tried it on and it’s one size too big. The bust was gaping, and it just hangs on my figure. I was between two sizes and ordered the larger size based on my waist measurement but now I’m really thinking I should’ve ordered the 8. The 10 doesn’t fit any part of my body. It’s discouraging but I have hope that my seamstress can alter it to fit me just right. This is such a process!

Breathe ! It’s okay. I get it was a let down when you tried it on but all will work out in the end !! To be honest bigger is better than smaller! It’s easier to take in a dress than to let it out. Your seamstress will be bale to fix it so it fits perfectly !!!

Don’t stress. You can have it altered to fit you perfectly. You’d rather it too big than too small!

    Hi Caroline,
Don't panic, my dress was way to big for me, I'm more than a A cup but less than a B, I was so upset, but my seamstress took it in and added padded sewn in cups!! Don't worry, your dream 👗 dress CAN be fixed!!

Girl that’s a good problem to have! Better than too small and having to purchase fabric from designer to make it work.

It’s totally ok! A seamstress can usually take in a dress up to two sizes. You’re fine. 😊

My youngest daughter measured 2 full sizes smaller on top than at her waist. She too ordered the bigger size, then alterations did their magic. It fit perfectly on her wedding day. Relax, you’ll be beautiful!

Thank you ladies. I sure hope my seamstress can work magic because this dress needs a lot of work. I’m adding custom sleeves to it as well which I’m thrilled about.
