Dress confusion

Jessica, on May 12, 2019 at 10:45 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 33
So I bought A dress that wasn’t really at all what I expected To want. Now two weeks later (looking at pictures of others I tried On) I think I picked The wrong dress. How do I decide?! Did anyone else buy a second dress or regret their first choice? I still Like the one I bought, but it’s just not “me”. Idk how that’s the one I ended up getting now looking back other than it was a hectic, emotional, overwhelming day. 😩🤦🏽‍♀️😂

Step away from the other pictures. Remind yourself why you chose the dress you chose. You can make yourself sick second guessing yourself. If you have the money for another dress, then I suppose you can look at other dresses. Otherwise, I would just stop overthinking it.

Try to remind yourself why you fell in love with the dress in the first place! That's what I had to do. I tried on a dress right before the one I bought, and I was nearly in tears. No one else was very excited about it, so we moved on. The one ingot had everyone crying. I keep thinking about the one I didnt get, so I keep making myself fall in love with the one I bought.

It happened to me too, honestly till this day I feel like there might have been a better one out there for me.
Everytime I went to the David's bridal store with my mom or bridesmaids I would try on another dress but I always ultimately went back to my first choice.

Try to picture it with all the jewelry, shoes, hair and viel if you're doing on.

    Good luck!

I would recommend not looking at other dresses anymore, you’re just going to keep comparing and wondering when there’s a good reason that you bought that dress! I got the exact opposite of what I wanted too (I think a lot of people do) looking at it I wouldn’t think it was “me” but I loved it on. I would think about whether getting another dress would actually make you happy or if you’ll just keep wondering if you should get something different again

This is the reason I deleted the pics of the other dresses and stopped browsing online. I too was unsure of my dress mainly because they didn’t have a sample in the color I ordered (ordered ivory and they had champagne) and there was nothing on Google either. I was definitely unsure of how it would be when it came in and I ended up falling in love with it all over again. You loved it for a reason, stop comparing to others.

Stay away from other pics. This might sound weird but go put your dress on, throw on canon in d and just stare at yourself in the mirror.

I did Like the dress when I got It, it was actually one of my favorites online. But it was double my size in the sample so it was really hard to tell what it looked like on me. I think It’s so hard because it’s nothing I expected I’d buy. I wanted lace, open back, long train, more of a vintage vibe.

My wedding is in the mountains so I’m wondering if the long train would end up just being annoying and messy looking and in the way. Idk 😩 my mom bought my dress, and I feel Horrible.

I do like my dress on her, so I keep Thinking maybe it’s just because it didn’t fit me. It was a 16 and I’m a 10

Your dress is gorgeous. Delete the pics of the other dress. Stop looking at dresses. I had dress regret too and doing that helped a lot.

Is there anything you can do in terms of not getting that dress? Call the bridal store and ask! It never hurts to ask! I see what you mean - I think the one on the right fits you a lot better, but like you said, that may be because the other one is not in your size.

I do not necessarily agree with everyone telling you to stop looking at dresses. I do not get the sense that you are searching out dresses online, but that you feel like you went with the wrong one. It really comes down to how you feel in both dresses. I did not love mine originally, but felt that it went well with the theme and vision I had. When it arrived in my size, I did like it more and believe it is the right one.

Think about this for a little while.
I bought a dress and almost had a meltdown 2 weeks later. Another 2 weeks gone by, and things are a little less upsetting.

It’s weird but I started Calming down about it too. The next day I had Planned to call the store but I woke Up thinking I should Go with the dress I chose. Who knows? Nervous because I want My fiancé to love it, nervous just about wedding planning in general plus some pms ha ha. I think It’ll be okay. I am Looking for more of a lace dress for my reception though which will be at home after my wedding, so I’m getting a little bit of each.

You look gorgeous in both - but I do have to say you look so much happier in the photo of the one you bought...your body language and smile says it all - you chose the right one!

I think you are just second guessing it because it didn't fit you like it will once alterations are made.

I wouldn't second guess it...you will look stunning and your FH will definitely think so too!

If you look at your face in the one that you chose it is happy and excited. The other one your face is like meh. Based on your face I think you made the right choice!
