Dress doubt

Lauren, on September 12, 2019 at 9:57 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
I ordered my dress a little over 5 months ago. Been thinking about it a lot lately and just not sure if it's the perfect dress. It's nice but looking at the pictures it feels too modest. I've definitely never been someone to dress overtly "sexy" but now I've been wondering if I should'nt have purchased so quickly. Wish it would come in already so I can try it on. Has anyone else felt this way?

Yes! Definitely felt that way many times! When my dress came in I fell in love all over again. Then I had my first dress fitting and questioned it again and didn’t think it looked right on me. After 2nd fitting with it being hemmed and fitting perfect I am absolutely in love with the dress and can’t wait to wear it! The wedding dress has been the most stressful part of the whole wedding planning for me! I’m sure once you get the dress you will get those feelings you had when you picked it out!

I had major dress regret for a long time. But once my dress was altered, I liked better than ever before. I think it happens to a lot of brides.
Maldonado, don’t look at any more dresses. It will only make it worse.

This is a common thread theme. I've felt it myself! I think being on here or on pinterest can be tough because you see so many other potentials and think, what if? But just like other things you'll love it more because its yours and its special. Just dont overthink it and go with your gut. Best wishes!

Same. I haven't seen mine in months. I won't see it again until late October. I'm super worried I chose wrong. I think that's normal, though.

Thanks ladies! The wait to have it on again definitely adds to the nerves!

Agh! I'm SO in the same boat. I ordered my dress about 2 months ago and have been obsessing over the changes I want to make ever since. I look at pictures of it every day and have even made changes to it on my phone's photo editing app. I just hope that what they say is true: you can make pretty much any change you want in alterations. 🤞 Dress regret is real but I think it will all feel better when it's fitted to your body. Don't forget that a good seamstress can do almost anything you want, if you decide you want it!

I’ve felt the same way. I have my first fitting next week so I hope I fall in love with it again because it’s too late to change it.

There were times I had dress envy moreso than dress regret. I think I loved mine more when I added a belt to it aha. So do you think there's things about yours you could alter? Or if it's cheap enough you really could just get another dress

I totally agree it may be more so dress envy sometimes! You see all the gorgeous dresses on here and especially ones that wouldnt look good on me I'm like aw I wish I could rock that! I'm adding cap sleeves and possibly a belt. Trying to find sparkly cap sleeves because that's one thing bugging me now is it has no bling. And it was way too expensive so no other dress for me lol

I have had the same feeling.. When I bought my dress I was really insecure about my chest size (not really knowing that birth control caused them to be larger than I prefer). So, I picked my dress that helped hide my insecurities.. In May, I made the decision to stop birth control and a month later I dropped a cup and a half! My insecurity is gone, and I feel like my dress is a bit too modest now... I am hoping once I see my dress in the correct size I will love it all over again. I bought it off the floor so it was 2 sizes too big... and quickly became 4 sizes too big when I went off the pill so it has been even hard to envision.
