Dress itch

Ella, on July 1, 2023 at 2:27 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 4
Hay guys so my wedding is in a month. I tried on my dress and the dress is heavy beaded. The stress straps are super thick, and because the dress is heavy. I wore it for less than 15 min and my skin on my shoulders turned completely red for hours ! And than my chest all the sudden turned red as well. Does anyone have an idea of what I can do to help so that in my wedding the redness won’t appear ? Or something to numb the pain idk. I don’t mind the heaviness or pain I just don’t want to look like a tomato at my wedding since the chest will be exposed and arms. I am so stressed idk what to do any more I even applied foundation it didn’t do the job it looks weird on the chest even got pink !! Lol PLZ HELP ANY IDEAS WOULD BE GREAT !

Is it fitted to you properly? The weight should not all be on the straps if it's close fitting on the bodice. Maybe BodyGlide may help (for chafing), and Saran wrap your torso under your dress. Or can the alterations person put in a corset inside to hold dress up and separate you from the fabric? Others will have ideas! Good luck.

Judging from this post and your last one, it sounds as though you have incredibly sensitive skin that tends to react to things easily. I’d be one thing if just your shoulders got red where the fabric was irritating it, but the fact that your chest got red where there wasn’t any fabric leads me to believe you are having a reaction to the fabric of the dress. It sounds like you need a visit to the dermatologist asap! Are you able to return your dress or exchange it for a different one? You may need to find a dress made of fabric that doesn’t irritate your
    skin.

You could take allergy meds (like Claritin) to help keep you from reacting. They work better over time, so start taking them now. I've also found that blister prevention (I use compeed) helps as well. My skin is sensitive, so the blister barrier keeps my skin from turning red when something rough touches it.

Okay thank u! Does bodyglide work?
The dress fit is not bad it’s not perfect either , but it fits well. I am super super skinny so it’s very hard to make the dress any tighter. Due to its heaviness they can’t get it any tighter or fix it but the straps I guess could get fixed maybe tighter idk. If I do that I am scared it will hurt even more. But I’ll try the body glide thank u !
