Dress Regrets

I agree with others about us being our own worst critics. You looking stunning in that dress. I think the day you choose the dress you’re just so over the moon you’re not looking for issues and you’re seeing how it actually looks. Then, when it comes in and they start to fit the dress it’s like our minds are just set out to find some sort of flaw. I chose my dress really early too, I still have 631 days to go. My dress came in the mail yesterday and I tried it on. I swear as soon as I stepped in front of the mirror my mind instantly went, ‘okay...so it mostly fits your body now so....do my hips look bigger than they are? Is it too short or too long?’ 🤦🏼‍♀️ Don’t listen to that nonsense when you’re in your dress because you really do look beautiful and my eyes were not drawn to your waist at all.

I know no matter what people say you are going to feel self conscious but I think you look stunning in your dress. I never looked at your belly..I ordered my dress back in October and they called the other day and said it is in but all my over analyzing of my pictures of doubting and second guessing. Dont like how my arm, back, and belly look. This is all before me even going to pick it up. I think when there is a body part or parts that they ate not comfortable with that is all you will focus on. I think you look fabulous and congratulations on your weight loss. I also really like the applique idea mentioned above.

I think the belt would be really nice, because of the buttons maybe have it sewn into the dress where it doesn't have to tie bethind, it stops before the buttons

I did find a small belt that does tie behind and I wanted to take it with my before what was supposed to be my final fitting (to see if I like it and if so it will be pretty simple for her to sew into the dress without the bow in the back). The problem is there are buttons all the way up and down the back. I am just wondering how it will look. We will see!

You look absolutely amazing in your dress.
i also bought a dress similar to yours with the fit and flare. I have very large thighs so I’m hoping it will look ok..
if you are more worried about the waist i would agree a corset..
comfortably is important but i have seen ppl wearing this one and it looked nice

I saw that one! The only thing I am worried about now is because I had a smooth body suit before that wasn't bulky and I am afraid if I try a corset, it will be too bulky and she will have to adjust the alterations a bit if the dress is too tight around the corset. I might try one less bulky. Thanks for the input!

Lauren you look stunning in your dress in those pics, and I’m not just being nice! And if it fits you even better now AND you’re gonna have even better shape wear, I think it’s perfect the way it is. I think if you have an updo and some chandelier earrings, wow 😮! Can you post pics after you get everything how u want it? I’m dying to see it all come together
and yes I’m having the same exact feelings about my dress. I feel like a stuffed sausage in mine & the rear view isn’t pretty. I thought it’d look great with weight loss but still looks bad. But, too late to do anything now. No extra money and no time with wedding in June. Just gonna make myself be happy and look for out of this world shape wear.
I have no shapewear on in these and have lost 10lbs since, hoping to lose 20+ more before June. I’ll post wedding pics after the wedding so we can see how it all looks in the end.
But we just need to project confidence because if we plant seeds of doubt in others minds, they’ll doubt the beauty. If we know we’re beautiful and confident others will know and agree too good luck!

Lauren 1st you look Beautiful!!! 2nd you should consult with your seamstress. They can sew in a belt or even add one with a ribbon tie on the back(so it flows). Nothing is impossible!

I will try and be as confident as I can as should you because you look amazing! I have been thinking about an updo because I would like to show off the neckline of the dress but I am just not comfortable with an updo since I wear my hair down and in half up half down looks so often. Here is the makeup and hair trial I am thinking about tweaking slightly for the big day. I hope it goes well with my dress. I also have very long dangly and sparkly earrings I got from etsy that I love!!

We are like sistas from other mistas lol because I always wear my hair down and half up too, however my hairstylist recommended since I always wear it down that an updo would look way more elegant and take away from my every day casual look . I think you are being too hard on yourself. I saw your picture and you look great. I'm sure your FH will feel the same.

I honestly think you look gorgeous! But YOU need to feel that way on your wedding day. Just remember, dont be too hard on yourself. You look amazing!
