Dress shopping

Kayla, on February 27, 2021 at 2:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19
Okay ladies I need advice. I’m going dress shopping in a week and I’m super nervous about weather or not to wear a bra. I don’t like to wear bras in dresses cause the girls are big enough but I feel like it’d be weird trying dresses on without one it that makes sense. What did you guys do? Or any advice?

I did no bra. I had a lot of low back dresses I tried on and did not want to stare at the back of the bra and get distracted.

Okay so it’s totally normal to not wear one or anything over the girls

Yeah, it’s normal to only wear a nude underwear. A lot of dresses I seen have cups sewn in already.

    I did bra. I'm a 32DDD and I feel strange without one.

I wore one and then when I found my dress, I tried it on without one. So no bra is definitely normal.

I didn't wear one for trying on dresses and I'm a size 30H. I knew going in that I would have to have a custom bra built into my dress during the alterations process anyway. I think it's pretty normal to not wear a bra when trying on wedding dresses.

I wore my bra (38DDD) & kept it on for dresses that you couldn’t see it. For strapless or thin strapped dresses, I took it off- I wanted to see what it’s supposed to look like.

Two of the shops I visited gave me an option to remove my bra, and one shop wanted me to remove it. I think you get a better visual without a bra as some dresses come with a built in bra or enough support temporarily to see how the dress looks without one. If a bra is needed for a strapless dress, one is usually offered by the shop.

I wore a bra, but honestly the wonderful lady who was helping me put on my dress told me to take it off because the dress would look better without it. She was right, of course. So now I will not be waring one on my wedding day. It never hurts to take it with you.

I wore no bra the whole time but tried on a ton of dresses that were backless. They weren’t weird about it at all!

I brought a strapless bra with me, but ended up trying on all the dresses without a bra! So I'd say no bra.

I wouldn’t wear one! Most dresses have built in padding

The bridal boutique I went to recommended I bring a strapless bra. I ditched it after the first dress and just went braless because it showed and I felt like I couldn't get a good idea of what the dresses really looked like with my bra showing. I brought a friend and she was the only one in the changing room with me. I felt comfortable enough getting half naked and staying that way.

If you are comfortable and normally go braless in dresses, I don't think there is any reason why you should need to wear a bra when trying them on. Models never do!

I wore no bra. My consultant actually recommended me not wearing one when trying on dresses bc I won’t be wearing one on my wedding day. I’m having cups altered in. Good-luck!

When I went shopping, the store provided me with some shapewear to "enhance" the look underneath, so I wore that. If I didn't have that, I would've done no bra. My dress is a corset so it holds everything up very nicely.

I just wore petal covers for my Nicole’s that way they are covered and if you have a backless dress your bra doesn’t distract from what it would look like.
