Your dress is actually really gorgeous! Personally, I would make the sleeves the type that hang off of your shoulders, but the shape and color is just beautiful. I can't see too well from the pic, but I can see some lace and some shine in there, and it looks beautiful.

First of all, this dress looks amazing on you!!


Second, your dress is blending aspects of modern and vintage in all the best ways. The sweetheart neckline is vintage, but that plunge is very modern. Lace is also typically vintage, but the lace on your dress looks like more swirls and leaves(modern style) as opposed to the old-fashioned chantilly lace. Also, the way the lace becomes less dense over the skirt is very modern and shows off the other fabrics.
It's really easy to fall into the dress-regret trap, but you picked such a gorgeous dress!!
