Dress too tight now...

My dress needed to be taken in when I got it, so the seamstress took my measurements, pinned the dress, and assured me it would fit like a glove when I came back two weeks later. Fast forward and the dress is now too tight! I haven't gained any weight in the last two weeks, and my measurements are still the same. Do I request she let it back out (even though that'll probably cost a small fortune), or do I just buckle down and try to lose some weight? I would only need to lose about 5-10lbs for it to fit well--it closes and everything, just makes me look very squished

Loosing 5 lbs sounds easier than spending more money ( I'm cheap lol) hope it works out !!!

My mom swells a lot when it gets warmer out so maybe if you've been eating a lot of salty food, cut back because it'll make you keep water. Which causes the swelling

Thanks! And @adventuresofruth, you think spanx would make the dress appear tighter? I hope that's just the problem haha

She should fix it at no additional charge. I had similar issue, though I currently weigh about 10 lbs more than usual. My wedding isn't until October, so she just left it as is, but didn't do final lace stitching; we'll see if needs to be taken out again closer to wedding.

@OP, I really do. If you have the dress, try it on again without and see if that was it? You can test the theory that way. I always feel like shareware adds a bit, just the tiniest bit. And if you are still able to close it and it technically fits but just feels to tight, it's probably just this slight change. It could also be the pressure from the sharewear. Are you used to wearing that particular piece of shapewear? Maybe that is particularly tight and added to the slightly more snug dress feels uncomfortable? I would say to just test it out with the shapwear and without and see if that's the issue. At least you'll have the answer either way!

No need to change your body for a gown, have them fix it since it was not taken in correctly.

Shapewear is good for smoothing but it doesn't make you smaller and it just takes up more space in the dress.

If the measurements are the same shes the one that made the mistake and she needs to fix it! It's okay to be a bridezilla sometimes, especially when it comes to your dress!

Also it could just be the shapewear. I would bring it with you and try it in again. With and without the shapewear and see if there's a difference.
