Dress!!

My best idea is to look at prom dresses instead of wedding dresses! Even bridesmaids dresses! They're also likely to be cheaper, and if you want more bling or whatever you could go to alteration places and have them work to customize it for even cheaper than buying a "wedding dress"

What style are you hoping for? Ballgown, fitted, a line? Lace or no lace? I did see one at David’s not long ago, it was fitted and a satin type fabric. I agree they are hard to find.

When you dye a piece of clothing it will take the dye differently depending on the material. That's a pretty risky game and I wouldn't try it myself. There are a lot of gorgeous black dresses available at a variety of price points, but they can be very difficult to find sometimes. Try websites that specialize in goth clothing, maybe? Or look on Etsy?

Dress stores put a ton of evening gowns out during the holidays. There are a LOT of options for black gowns.

Azazie is a good site, I ordered two formal dresses off of there for a musical I'm attending and they're good quality and fast shipping. Dye is super difficult to deal with and depending on what fabric is involved you could end up with a nightmare!

Cocomelody.com has several black dresses. They have a Facebook group where you can see the dresses other brides ordered, and if you are in LA, they have a boutique.
