You don’t need to have your dress right now, but I would recommend going shopping fairly soon as a lot take 6-8 months to come in.

When I was 10 months out I had my dress picked and ordered. Sometimes its better to be early than late because I ordered my dress in June 2018 and it just came in a couple weeks ago so it took a whole 12 months to come in but in other instances it could only take 6-8 months. So now being 10 months out you would want to speak to the bridal salon about how long their dresses take to come in before you pick one just to make sure it would come in by 10 months.

I ordered my dress 8 months out, Madison James. The salon will tell you if you’ll receive it in time because they know each designers production time.

My wedding is 2 months before yours, and I ordered my gown about a year out. Mine fortunately came in in ~5 months. I need to go pick it up actually.

I had mine around 10 months out but it was because I happened across a good deal. Otherwise i would have waited and not minded getting it later

Start shopping now in case it takes you a few shops to find The One. My dress took 8 months to come in. It can take 6-9 months, unless David’s which seems to take a lot less.

You can go and start looking for a dress. It also depends as to when the dress will be ready. I bought mine in January for our December 14th, 2019 wedding and it took 5 months to get back.

Also 10 months out and I have my dress picked and ordered. I wouldn't leave it much longer to go shopping as a lot of dresses take at least 6 months to come in and you then need to allow time for fittings, plus you may need to visit a few boutiques until you find "the one"!

I am going on Sunday to try on dresses for my April 2020 wedding. I am also hoping to purchase a sample dress, however, I am sure this will still be enough time to order one if I have to.

Typically a good rule of thumb is 9 months ahead of time. I am tentatively getting married in June of 2020, and I will be wedding dress shopping in August.

It would not hurt to start lining up some appointments in case it takes you a couple visits to find the right dress. If you end up finding the one sooner rather than later then yay one big thing to check off your to do list.

My wedding is in September and I didn't buy my dress until March. I wouldnt recommend waiting that long, just because some shops can be slow. If you want to wait, plan on buying off the rack.

You should at least be shopping for it. It takes months and months for them to come in sometimes.
