Omg, I tried on the first dress! I'm 5'9 and it looked great. The dress I ended up going with is pretty similar to number 2. It's an empire waist ball gown. So I think you will look great in either one!

I think most gowns come in 3 lengths. When you order yours see if you need to order the longest length. Especially if you plan to wear heels.

I'm 5'8" and I ordered a mermaid dress that had plenty of length to it. I would try on a bunch of styles and see which you like best on your body

My friend is 5'11'' and decided to wear high inch heels and length had to be added to her dress. She wore a ball gown style dress.

I'm 5'11" and I have a ball gown. When you're that tall, you can really command a big shape. I'm looking for super low heels to go with my dress so I won't need length added!

I am 6'1 and got a trumpet! I absolutely love it and it is the perfect length! ( I plan on wearing flats)

5"9 and got an aline ballgown I believe it would be considered.....fitted at top and flares out above hips but not wicked poofy!

I'm 5'9" and I agree with PPS that when you're tall you can absolutely pull off a dramatic or grand gown. I went with a very wide-skirted ballgown (it had extra poof built into the hips so that it was big throughout the entire skirt, not just at the bottom).

There was a SYTTD episode a few seasons back featuring a bride who was a WNBA player--she was 6'4! She wound up going with a fit-and-flare that started just at the hips.

As other posters have noted, if you're tall, you can go as grand as you like, as you're wearing the dress, rather than the other way around.

I'm 6' and I ended up choosing a sheath style gown. I agree that because of your height you can pull off just about any style!

I am 5'11'' as well and the dress I chose was very similar to the one you posted, I think it is really flattering! However I think being taller actually gives you more options without swallowing your whole body up, so go with whatever makes you comfortable

I think that mine was an A-Line, but it was super fluffy and romantic. Also, I'm 5'9.
