Dried Flowers - Any Experience?

Mac2Bee, on June 26, 2018 at 7:50 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 15

FH recently recommended using dried flowers after our florist backed out. I did a ton of research and found some amazing stuff out there for weddings. I am close to pulling the trigger on this for everything (bouquet, corsages, centerpieces, etc). In case you are like me and thinking "how can dried flowers be a bouquet?" I attached the photo of the one I am looking at. Smiley smile

Is there anyone that has used dried flowers for a wedding, been in a wedding with dried flowers, or used them for something else? Or anyone who has worked with PickaBloom Flowers on Etsy?

First, that bouquet is gorgeous! I had a quick peek at PickaBloomFlowers and it looks like they are legit and do a great job. The reviews are fantastic.

Second, the only worry I have about dried flowers is their durability. But I figure as long as you're careful, I don't see why not.

Dried flowers are very delicate!! If you are careful and they are dried long enough with sturdy stems they should be fine. But my fiancé when he purposed gave me a yellow rose because I love yellow and it was so different then anything else he saw and I hung it to dry and keep forever this is what it looks like now

Isn't it? I was really drawn to it.

That's a good point about the durability. I will ask them about that and if there is any special care needed once it arrives.

I love the dried flower look, but I opted for wood carved flowers instead because they are a little more durable.

I would say if you are concerned look into Silk flowers. Real touch silk flowers are amazing.

Yes! We are doing dried flower bouquets, corsages, etc ( not centerpieces) from an Etsy store called DrieFowersForever. Just got them two weeks ago and in love! Our wedding is October and they told us to just keep them in a cool and dry place. Pic of my bouquet and some others is attached.

I don't have any experience with dried flowers but I'm doing silk flowers which look just as pretty as your picture, however silk ones are more durable. You can order predone bouquets through Etsy or buy your own silk flowers and make one.

Those colors are perfect for an October wedding!

How are they holding up since you received them? Do you have any concerns about the durability?

They are holding up great. I’ve rewrapped them all gently and they’re tucked away. No concerns on durability, at least not any more than regular flowers.

I used an Etsy company for mine and loved them! They were called Dried Flowers Forever. Picture is my bouquet but we did all the bouquets, corsages and boutonnières from them too.

So pretty! I’ve been thinking about ordering dried flowers from Etsy too for mine... did you have any issues at all? Thank you! Smiley smile
