Dried Lavender

TurnerToAQueen, on May 16, 2017 at 9:31 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

Has anyone ever used this before? I love the idea of it and I love the smell of lavender. I have found pictures of people using it as their BM bouquets in the wedding. I also LOVE that idea. My colors are navy (men) and gray (ladies) and LOTS of greenery. My bouquet will be white flowers with quite a bit of greenery.

Thoughts on my BM's using dried lavender? It is a winter wedding and it is in a church; I am afraid the dried lavender may look too "country" and not match my theme.

I have pictures of the men's tuxes and the ladies' dresses! I also have saved pictures of the bouquets if anyone wants to see it all together.

I don't think it will look too country. If anything, French country, which is not the same as rustic country.

However, how do you get the lavender to splay? From what I recall, it's very straight when dry

We are using dried lavender on our escort card table as well as in floral arrangements! I think as long as there aren't other "country" aspects of your wedding it won't look out of place.

Love your name by the way, I've never seen it spelled that way, but it's beautiful

I love lavender but before you do anything dried you should probably ask your church/priest if dried flowers are permitted. Some churches won't allow artificial or dried.

@Jenny, I actually do not plan on trying to "splay" them. I like the simplicity of them being straight.

Here are some pictures of the bouquets and pictures of the dresses my BM's ordered/are ordering! I am also considering a fur shawl since it will be February and I live in the mountains in TN!

@svetlana, very good point! I cannot use artificial, but I will double check on dried flowers. Smiley smile

I have dried lavender as a filler in my bouquets. I purchased it from Curious Country Creations for a decent price.

Thank you for the input! It is all cleared with the church. I may order 1 bouquet and just see how it looks with the dresses.

Now on to my next decisions - fur or no fur? Any thoughts/ideas?
