Hi all,

Our reception drinks package is that guests receive a drink on arrival, 1/3 bottle of wine during the meal & a glass to toast.

There will also be an option for guests to buy drinks at the bar.

We are looking to also maybe put a tab on the behind the bar that would give guests 2 drinks each (either wine, beer or soft drink). To regulate the tab and make sure everyone gets their fair share we're looking at giving guests 2 drinks tokens each.

Our budget cant extend to an open bar.

What are your thoughts on the token idea? Have you seen this done at a wedding before?

Thanks! Xx

I would be fine with out the glass upon arrival. I don't like to drink right away at events. If I could have a drink through out that wasn't alcohol I would be annoyed if I had to pay for a soft drink to be honest. Alcohol I get but a soft drink no. I would cut something in my budget first before I charged for regular drinks. Those should be standard like the meal. That's almost like charging for the meal it goes together.

My brother had it arranged for everyone 1-2 drink voucher tickets as they arrived at their reception. It worked out really well for them!
