Drinks at bridal shower?

APD, on September 1, 2016 at 10:27 AM

So I wanted to do mimosas and bloody Mary's at my bridal shower and I plan on having it at 2pm on a Sunday. Is that okay to do that late in the day? I'm not sure because those are more of a brunch kind of drink. Thanks for the help ladies!

I was nervous about serving alcohol at my 12:00 pm bridal shower but it was ALL gone. No one turned down the alcohol.

Agreed don't plan your own shower. And alcohol is good at any hour of the day Smiley smile

My mom and I hosted my sister's shower, and we had an Tuscan theme so we did a drink made with prosecco, like sangria but an Italian version (plus wine).

    The food was AMAZING.

My MOHs (maid and matron) are planning mine, but they're asking me my preferences for the drinks and food-type and location. As the three of us don't live near each other, the location is rather crucial.

It's never too late in the day for a mimosa. Smiley laugh

Mimosas are fine any time, IMO! haha. Maybe do a rum punch instead of bloody mary's though?

There are no time limits on Bloody Marys nor mimosas in my book!

I had a Sunday bridal shower. We had pink champagne and iced tea.

OK to have a Mamosa bar at an evening time bridal shower? It’s 6 PM on a Friday. It’s like a bridal fire

To go off more of my previous question. I’m throwing a bridal shower for my sister-in-law and I feel like Mamosa’s are simple a great drink. I just don’t know with the time being so late if it’s appropriate I guess? Any other drink suggestions? Also we’re having her bachelorette party the day after it’ll just be about five of us it’s also an evening one also obviously into the night. Drink suggestion there?

I think you'll be good to go!

My bridesmaids are doing my bridal shower but I'm involved with planning so I am going through the same thing. I don't think its rude at allSmiley star

I definitely do not think you should be planning this day yourself. Its typically an honor for the women in your life whether it be your MOH/bridesmaids, your mother or your mother-in-law. You're already planning your own wedding, let them do the shower for you and you can just enjoy.

But when it comes to the drinks, I think you should definitely have the mimosas and bloody marys! I don't think it matters that its 2pm on a Sunday, there will be people who want to enjoy them and you don't need to get hammered but they are there for people to enjoy. If they don't want to drink then they don't have to.
