Hi all! We had our first meeting with the Pastor of our church yesterday who is marrying us! We asked about songs restrictions, and he said he has to approve them and would prefer they be Christian songs. (There goes my idea of playing "From This Moment" by Shania Twain!)

Anyways, we will have a pianist but she isn't singing, so words aren't really important to us, we really just want beautiful music that will sound great played on a piano.

If you have any songs you love PLEASE drop them below to give me some guidance! Thank you!

    Trust me I asked that, too! Our Pastor would just prefer it be Christian music because the ceremony is a time of worship and to make God the center of our marriage, so even without words he wanted the songs or hymns to be Christian. I may try to sneak in HOLY by Florida Georgia Line and see if he'll allow it at least to play before the processional.

    "Love never fails" by Brandon Heath!!!!! Such a beautiful song! - I am deff using this in our wedding, I think one of the processional songs. I was going to have it be the song I process down to but I think I found a better one for me but it isn't Christian.

    Gotcha! I can relate- we are having a christian ceremony as well! It will just be a pastor friend though, so I have the luxury of being corny and have 'sign, sealed, and delivered' playing as the recessional! Good luck- and if you decide on one I would love to know! I am more of a slow romantic song kinda girl, so I am not sure if you will like those!!! Good Luck Smiley smile

    Love never fails by Brandon Heath and When I say I do by Mathew West are my favorites my sister was also saying that Known by Tauren Wells would be a good wedding song!

    I did Come Thou Fount at my Catholic wedding, it was beautiful! I also did "How He Loves Us", which is beautiful.

    My ceremony actually has non-religious & gospel music before the ceremony. During the ceremony, I have the hymns "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty" and "Lo, He Comes with Clouds Descending" -- but I like really traditional worship music. And our soloist is singing the Lord's Prayer at the end.

    For contemporary things, I'd take a look at "Shout to the Lord", "You are the light of the world" , "we will glorify", and that's about as far as my contemporary christian music knowledge goes...

    This is the hymn we sang at my wedding Smiley smile It was the ONLY Christian song we used, and we got married in a church. The rest of the ceremony, the organist just played classical music. To tell you the truth, I don't even remember the piece I walked down the aisle to; I saw H and that was it.
