Drunk groom = bad start to marriage

Did anyone else's wedding turn out to be a disaster? The wedding was beautiful and the day was great but it went south. My groom didn't write his own vows.... copied mine. And I only found out at the moment he was saying them!

Then...he continues to drink. By the time the wedding is over and everyone is leaving the after party he is still out. I take my four month old daughter to bed . 2 hours later still can't find my husband. Stupid me, I'm still waiting for him in my wedding dress. I called everyone I knew to find him. Finally someone found him.

To top it off, he lost his wedding ring.

So he completely broke my heart. It's been three weeks since the wedding, and I still can't forgive him. We haven't sent in our marriage license. We are literally not going to make it! We fight nonstop.

Any advice?!?

I called him out on the vows to his sisters and brother n law. Our counselor told me that was wrong to do. But it hurt. I'm standing up there and hear my vows returned. I wanted to cry! But yes, I it's disrespectful to public ally disrespect him

LOLing at "maybe he was nervous?"

When I get nervous, I don't get drunk and leave my wedding with my friends instead of my wife. This is not acceptable behavior.

So, you're in counseling? Or you were? I'm going to assume you're still in it since the counselor told you this was wrong.

Also, you knew it was wrong, but did it anyways. I get being hurt, but goodness, that should have been brought to *his* attention first. Not defending him, but when you have an issue with your partner, you discuss it privately and don't drag anyone else into it.

How old is everyone involved here?

ETA: The answer for the age question was answered.

If your husband's priority on wedding night was to get drunk with his friends over spending the night with you, there is something terribly wrong in your relationship. You guys need counseling like yesterday.

We are in counseling, have been for awhile.

Fighting stopped a bit, but guess who he wants to go to dinner with tonight. The friend I found him with on our wedding night.

I hope the counseling is at least helping in ways that you have not shared.

How close are he and his friend and how long have they known each other?

I didn't expect this kind of response. I expected most to say this stuff happens a lot.

He's a 37 year old man child who will probably never grow up.

    @MMB, okay, found that comment.

But saying he's going out to dinner with the friend, to me, implicates things more than just a immature "party, hard-y" friend.
