Drunk groom = bad start to marriage

Did anyone else's wedding turn out to be a disaster? The wedding was beautiful and the day was great but it went south. My groom didn't write his own vows.... copied mine. And I only found out at the moment he was saying them! Then...he continues to drink. By the time the wedding is over and...

Did anyone else's wedding turn out to be a disaster? The wedding was beautiful and the day was great but it went south. My groom didn't write his own vows.... copied mine. And I only found out at the moment he was saying them!

Then...he continues to drink. By the time the wedding is over and everyone is leaving the after party he is still out. I take my four month old daughter to bed . 2 hours later still can't find my husband. Stupid me, I'm still waiting for him in my wedding dress. I called everyone I knew to find him. Finally someone found him.

To top it off, he lost his wedding ring.

So he completely broke my heart. It's been three weeks since the wedding, and I still can't forgive him. We haven't sent in our marriage license. We are literally not going to make it! We fight nonstop.

Any advice?!?

This is definitely not normal. You need more help. Does your family know? Does his know how bad it really is?

If you have been in counseling for a while and this is still happening you need to leave.

Girl, you deserve better than this. YOUR DAUGHTER needs to see that her mother being respected or she will grow up not expecting any.

I married the party boy years and years ago. You are going to be sitting there crying many many more nights.

If this happened to me on my wedding night, I would have left the next day and filed for divorce. Again that's me personally, but I don't feel that's any way to start your marriage. I could see my fiance copying my vows simply because he doesn't read or write well, but I'd probably laugh that part off at least.

WHAT!! You thought this happens a lot!?!?! Nooooo. I have never heard of this happening to anyone. It's not normal behavior, especially on your wedding day. Sure maybe a teenage boy would do this to his girlfriend he's truly not that into.... As for your HUSBAND, to do this on your wedding night, not normal.

No this is definitely not normal.

The good thing about life though is that you ALWAYS have choices. You need to make a choice here about whether he is worth the effort and the pain he's putting you through. Spend some time searching your soul and try to figure out what is best for you right now, but honestly, it doesn't sound like it's him...

Thank goodness he was not cheating. But no, this is definitely not the norm that someone would rather be AWAY from their spouse immediately after marrying them.

I think the fact that you haven't submitted the license 3 WEEKS after the wedding says it all. Neither of you truly wants this marriage.

How often were you attending counseling, OP? Why did you stop? Was it couples counseling or premarital?

His friends are all from childhood. And they live all over the country so when they get together they go crazy.
