Duo-language Ceremony - Korean and English in Hawaii.

I’m doing a fully bilingual wedding in English and Spanish but, I’m also very aware of korean culture and language (used to have a korean bf back in the day) so I would suggest a few things.... Hawaii is full of Asians so you may be able to find a Korean church for your officiant. Or at least find a co-officiant who can translate. You want both sides of the family to understand and find meaning in the ceremony.

You can get bilingual invitations. Sometimes its harder to find an invitation with both languages written on it but, buying one set of invitations is cheaper than buying two separate sets and making sure everyone gets their invitation in the correct language. I ended up making my own.

You could also de ceremony programs with one side in English and one side in korean.

Think about hiring a bilingual DJ as well if you’re going to have monolingual guests who speak different languages. I saw that at a wedding last week and it really worked well.

The WeddingWire vendor directory has lots of officiants in Hawaii listed. Perhaps you could reach out to them and inquire about a duo-language ceremony. Even if a particular officiant does not speak both languages, they may be able to recommend someone else!

It is possible to filter by language, unfortunately, Korean is not on the list. Just CHinese, English, French, german, Hebrew, Japanese and Spanish.

Another suggestion would be to speak with the venue coordinator, he/she may have some suggestions or recommendations!

KakaoTalk is definitely popular with the younger crowd but for elders and such, a formal invitation is nice.

You could try to make your own bilingual invitations using a template which is what I did. It was a lot cheaper that having an invitation company make them. They charge more for bilingual. If you find a template you like, you just have to make sure that it will accept you writing in Hangul. Some programs can’t read it and you end up with little boxes in place of the letters. That makes me wonder if I could even write in Hangul on wedding wire. I’ll write a word or two and see if it shows up. ?????~^^

You may have better luck at having them made in Korea but ask to double check the English yourself unless you want the English portion to end up with possible mistakes in it.
